For a film that gained notoriety well before its release for how wildly Sonic's original animation diverged from his well-established look, Sonic the Hedgehog does show a clear understanding of the source material and its essential nature.
Yeah, I'm scrolling through and it seems like they have an inclination against most mainstream films. What even is this site? Literally every review I scrolled though was terrible. From birds of prey to joker, they even shit on the latest video games.
I'm not updating the list anymore but yeah! You can be part of our gang.Ay, sorry to bother and ask again but any chance I can slide into team Sonic?
i predict so the so called " movie critics " will forget about re-design and instead complaining about the movies' bad writing
i will still be watching the movie cos of Jim Carrey , to me he will be a funny Mr Robotnik
Sonic the Hedgehog is a mess of a film, with a mishmash of tones that keeps the disparate elements from ever gelling. Despite the best efforts of a committed cast, including a truly bonkers Jim Carrey, the film never fully finds its footing

Slant and Slate are different sources but both are respected, Slate perhaps more so. Both sites look like they've undergone drastic overhauls since I last visited though in terms of their appearance.
"Sonic" will be the No. 1 film on this 4-day weekend as both Paramount and independent trackers are projecting an extended opening total in the low $40 million range. While that would be a decent start for this $95 million-budgeted CGI/live-action hybrid, Paramount is aiming much higher than decent, and the studio likely hopes for a theatrical run strong enough to merit a sequel.
Can't tell if it's a review or just an article talking about it, but in any case."Sonic the Hedgehog" started with a built-in base of video game fans, but turns out to be more than just an updated film reboot, adding laughter ...
About 12 hours from now

Mm hmm, exactly as it was tracking beforeVariety sticking with the $40-45m tracking. If i'm in the team make more than Pikachu camp, I'm getting a little nervous about my chances: https://variety.com/2020/film/news/sonic-box-office-opening-weekend-birds-of-prey-1203501227/
How? I saw like 70% bad reviews
There are no official reviews yet. They drop tomorrow. So far we only have impressions from people that have seen it and they're almost all positive. If what we know so far translates to reviews, it's gonna help Sonic.
The actual fella outed himself after he stepped down from the role: https://www.polygon.com/features/2018/6/15/17455056/fake-kaz-hirai-twitter-account-mark-dohertyConspiracy theory time, he is secretly the person behind the funny Kaz Hirai account from a year or two ago.

It's an interesting read! Zhuge/Daniel definitely has a similar sense of humor though. He's in the UK (Zhuge) I know so it may just be that dry British humor.
Fresh tracking metrics indicate a surge for Sonic as we near release, although reviews won't be available until early Thursday morning. At this stage, however, the film is approaching trends comparable to Detective Pikachu. Based on our latest models, the pic has a fair shot at climbing past Ghost Rider ($52 million four-day) to crack the top five Presidents Day weekends of all time.
Opening Weekend Ranges
- Sonic the Hedgehog ($43 – 48 million three-day / $50 – 60 million four-day)
I mean, there's gonna be guaranteed losers and winners coming out of this, so you will be right. :PI didn't participate in this thread but I have a feeling crow will be served. I hope I'm right.
