I think Texan is distinct enough from Southern to qualify, but that would be my list.

Because you live in NY, step outside of NY and people will get a kick out of the way you say certain words. Having a NY accent doesn't always mean you sound like a Gambino

I'm from Chicago and live in the suburbs as well. The accent honestly drives me insane.

Bingo. I live in a midwestern state known entirely for lacking an accent (lots of telemarketing companies here). I find the southern drawl to be an affront to English speaking people of all nationalities.

Absolutely not to most of these. I wish it was globally instead, because I can't say that any american accents are sexy. Especially Chicago not deserving 5th place... I live in IL and that ain't sexy.
