Another risk that Lachlan faces if he intervenes in Fox's programming is antagonizing Trump's favorite host. According to sources, Hannity is still angry over the Murdochs' firing of Fox News C.E.O. Roger Ailes and co-president Bill Shine, Hannity's close friend and former producer. Hannity believes the Murdochs are out to get Trump. “Hannity told Trump last year that the Murdochs hate Trump, and Hannity is the only one holding Fox together,” a source who heard the conversation told me. Hannity has told friends that he intends to leave Fox when his contract expires in early 2021, two people who've spoken with him said. “Sean doesn't feel supported,” a staffer close to him said. “He has no relationship with Lachlan. Sean thinks, Wait a second, I was hired to get ratings and I get ratings, but now people are embarrassed about me? He feels Fox spends a lot of time supporting Shepard Smith but his show makes no money. That's annoying to him.” (Hannity did not respond to a request for comment.)

But now, creating distance from Trump may be the necessary first step in a larger strategy. Younger Murdochs are much more liberal compared to their Father. They are still Right of Center but they are much saner then Rupert and really have no desire to keep Trump TV alive. I think the idea proposed is pretty accurate. The Brothers will begin the shift away from trump and maybe try to normalize the network in order to try and make selling it attractive to a buyer.

From what I've heard, he's getting paid more at Fox than he would if he moved to a more legit network simply because they need him. If his show goes away then so does their only actual news show.

I can only imagine how horrified Hannity would be if he jumped ship to work for Trump... and then actually realized what it means to work for Trump. That acquaintance would go nuclear in the most spectacular fashion once he has to start taking orders from Trump.

The guy definitely sounds like a rich kid with no merit to his position outside of his bloodline. I’m still unsure of his politics because libertarian talk can often hide fascist intentions, but whatever they are is probably hugely out of touch with the Fox News audience.

I wouldn't be surprised if he gets paid more than Tucker and Sean which could cause resentment.

Trump is extremely in touch with the Fox News audience, and Trump TV might be a threat, but I think the only evidence that he ever wanted that turned out to be a prank for the Netflix mockumentary Undecided.

No, that’s the Fox broadcast channel that Disney never could have bought. Fox News is a cable channel, and wasn’t offered or wanted in the sale.

lol of course. Hannity is the anchor. And it makes perfect sense they'd want to sell the news channel as well. Man, that will be the day when that shit just "changes" and Hannity can follow O'Reilly and that other asshole to a podcast or some shit.

Pretty much. Honestly, I'd argue most on Fox News are pretty easily replaceable. It's not like old conservatives have any other news station to be pandered to like with Fox News.

Some folks are just that dumb, but for a large chunk of his audience it's all about owning the other side. When he says shit like this it makes us mad, so it must be good, right?
