Yeah, there seems to be quite a lot of MPs who in a way are okay with No Deal being a thing which is pretty shocking.
Not yet, they have to vote on the government's vote to whether they want a deal or no deal. That will pass with ease. Tomorrow they will then have a vote on an extension.
Saw quite alot on Twitter. The "justification" is if a no deal Brexit is rejected, Brexit as a whole gets less likely.
Only for government ministers. There's a convention of collective responsibility that ministers must vote with the government, or else resign/be removed. They'll still be MPs, just not government ministers.
Reminder this was an amendment to the no deal vote to add language that takes no deal of the table entirely and was whipped against by the government and was not expected to pass. The "free vote" (which the government is now whipping against) is still to come.

With a majority of 4 I don't think the amended motion which takes no deal off the table will pass unfortunately...

But the referendum never said anything about how long the UK should leave - that loophole for a continued referendum is just hanging out there, waiting to be the magic bean out of this mess.

Government's now whipping for no deal because of the Spelman amendment passing. No longer a free vote.
The BBC is covering is with some more detail. I think Am. A was to make it so the UK wouldn't let Brexit happen with No Deal (so, I think they'd be forced to revoke Brexit before then) and Am. F was to extend the deal deadline and a few other things. A passed, F failed.
The no deal vote hasn't happened yet (they're voting on it now) the 308-312 was for an amendment that would add language ruling out no deal in any circumstances, the original wording was more open
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the main motion of this evening was to reject a No Deal outcome.
Amendments can be tabled and voted upon, one such amendment was to rule out leaving the EU entirely, or at least with No Deal at any point. This passed, and is now part of the main motion.
The government is now trying to vote and force its own MPs to vote against the motion they brought, because of the amendment. It's absolutely bonkers and pretty hilarious.
The government were making their party vote for no deal. They couldn't vote freely unless they wanted to resign.
Not sure why anyone who voted for the amendment (which was also whipped against) would then vote against the motion. It was a foregone conclusion once the amendment passed.
I had to Google melena and now I feel ill. It's an entirely appropriate word however...
