This is great, this game deserves as many sales as possible. I love this game so much. I even bought it 4 times! (GOG, Switch, physical PC and physical Switch releases.)

Hopefully this bodes better for another Ron Gilbert P&C game in the future.

Hopefully, although probably still unlikely.

All I can say is I wish I had the money and free time to play these Switch titles that are becoming apparent successes.

I'm always adverse to digital software.

Kinda surprising given the genre was never really popular on consoles (but I have to admit I bought it on Switch). It'll probably have a bigger share of GOG sales than usual, though, but of course those probably are still are just a fraction of the Steam sales.

I have that exact same spread lol

:/ true.

Maybe people who played Maniac Mansion on the NES? That's actually how I got into the genre back in the day.

I wonder how being a timed Xbox One exclusive worked out for this game. I would have guessed that Xbox had the largest share of sales but maybe not.

bundles and humble monthly have pretty much "ruined" indies on PC (in general, im sure some people still buy them day 1), I would feel bad for them but its the monster they created so...yeah.

Pretty sure the Switch version outsold the XB1 game long ago.

Edit - It did. Ron Gilbert tweeted about it last November. I'd post the tweet if I weren't on mobile.

Yes, Ron Gilbert comments about sales numbers vs selling price vs "success" in that thread are pretty important.

Where's that sequel yo. It took a bit for me to warm up to it, but I really loved Thimbleweed Park on my Switch. I desperately want more classic, meaty adventure games on the system.

I mean there are literally thousands of them on pc and this is the only point-and-click adventure on switch as far as i can see.

* Goetia
* Darkside Detective
* The Journey Down
* The Lion's Song
* Bulb Boy
* Syberia
* Dead Synchronicity
* Bernham Fiddle

...and many more. Not nearly as much as on Steam of course, but Thimbleweed Park isn't the only game.

Happy to see that they have more sales. I bought this game three times, first on PS4 digital, then PS4 collectors edition and Switch normal edition (both physical copies through LimitedRunGames).

There was a really good sale for it at like $9.99 back in March; I jumped on it then. Nice to see all this success for so many smaller games.

I'm guessing it sold like shit on the ps4 because it seems to go on sale every other month.

Pretty crazy, but awesome.

I bought it on the Switch. I have no real history with Ron Gilbert or the genre, but still really, really enjoyed it. Some stuff was rather obtuse for a rookie like me so I didn't feel too bad about using the in game hint thing or getting some pointers online.

Great to hear....initial consoles sale were kinda lacking some I'm sure they are more than happy with getting these numbers on Switch without any kind of big promo.

I doubt most young PC gamers today even know what a point and click is, let alone remember Ron Gilbert.

I'd put the Switch success on the older demographic.

I'm sure most of the people who played P&C adventure games in the 90s are still kicking it today.

I'd hope so at least.

Either way I bought this on Switch and PC and I found playing this in bed for 30 minutes to an hour on the touch screen was the best way to experience this game.

Good on Ron Gilbert! I played this on Mac myself and never got the Switch version, but it sounds like the Switch port was a big time seller for Terrible Toybox. Would love to see what they do next.

Good for the devs. Honestly, I didn't think this kind of game would find sustained success on the Switch but I'm glad to be wrong.

I haven't gotten around to playing this yet, and I'm debating whether to pick it up for my Switch or go PC as usual. Since Day of the Tentacle played fine on Vita I wouldn't mind going for a portable experience again. You don't need to use the touchscreen on the Switch, right? (I just prefer not to smudge up the screen while playing, it's a minor thing).

I think it's a bit crazy that a Ron Gilbert P&C is doing better on Switch than on Steam. Thimbleweed Park was a fairly hyped (for a niche title) release on PC.

You can use traditional controls. No touch screen required.

I hope they add in video capture then. It is a fun game that I need to play more, but I'd love to play the Monkey Island special editions on the switch.

I bought this on Switch instead of pc too, even though the interface would be better for it. It's just a game that lends itself perfectly to portability, it's a 'low intensity' game you can just pick up anywhere and squeeze a few minutes in. It's a surprisingly good fit for point & click adventures.

Great game too, anyone who enjoyed the old school adventures should play it, but even if you haven't played anything in that genre there's enough to love.

This is one of the best PnC Adventure games to come along in years, IMO. If you haven't picked it up yet, Switch is arguably the best platform for it. It's perfect for on-the-go play, and it even supports touchscreen control.

I liked the game so much I even got the artbook for it from FanGamer.

The fact that you can play the game using the touchscreen probably helped. It's maybe the next best way of playing P&C Adventure Games, losing only to a mouse obviously.
It's alright but the screen is super inaccurate. Phone is probably the better platform due to convenience
That aside, I finished this on Switch yesterday and loved it! Second playthrough.

Is the artbook worth it? Looks beautiful.
