I will say that the game was really good from what I remember, though it was a long, long time ago

But yeah it's THQ Nordic so I'm probably not going to rediscover this game as a result of this version.

What a odd game to choose to remaster.

Is Spongebob doing really well again atm or something

I am still waiting for THQ to take the "appropriate" action they said they will in their "apology" statement.
I do not think that any THQ employee wants to have any kind of relation with the people responsible for that dreadful AMA and they are stuck in the middle because of the management's lack of action.

I wish we had some new info on this, though.
The game looks cool, something my niece of 10 will love to play. I really want THQ to do the right thing so i can gift it to her.

Don't be a disingenuous git please. When someone says fuck my company, I'm pretty sure they're not directly talking about me the majority of the time.

If we're against this company as a community, Why not just decide to ban THQN threads completely. That's a better stance than what happens today. They get literally no coverage then.

This is sarcasm right?

No. Sure the choice of website for the AMA was bad, but that's more the fault of the organizers and the site itself rather than the developer and publisher. If they continue to remake and put out games I'm interested in, I don't care what reputation a developer/publisher has.

Aside from holding a mostly harmless ama, THQ Nordiq are pretty great. They're basically forgiven for being an idiot before in my eyes, hope Timesplitters is next.
They signal boosted a site that hosts child pornography for the better part of a day on their social media.

How the fuck is that "mostly harmless"?

Everyone is welcome to criticize THQ Nordiq for any past mistakes. Users should not try to police or backseat mod the thread by claiming such posts do not belong here. Please do not dismiss concerns about these issues, either
Sorry for my interference, mod, but my brain had a short circuits.

This means you can talk about spongiebob and another can say fuck you THQ at the same time? In the same discussion?
But but what rule say this is possible in a debate? In a discussion, which means people have to talk about the same arguments because otherwise it cannot be defined as discussion?
Try to do this in real life, where the rules are the same and watch how this will end.

It is simply not possible.

Interesting choice of game. Don't know, I read that some were expecting a Spongebob game, but I didn't really believe it tbqh.

The people making the spongebob game didn't host the AMA and have no control over the guy that did. But that doesn't matter because the CEO didn't apologize hard enough I guess, so every dev attached is also complicit according to idiots on era
Stop making shit up.
Criticism is focused on the two main people who we know were responsible for and actively engaged with the AMA, Philipp Brock and Reinhard Pollice.
Both of whom, as far as we know, are still with the company and have faced no consequences whatsoever. We want THQ to hold them accountable.

When people say things like "fuck THQ" over this, they obviously don't mean everyone who works for the company in some capacity and have nothing to do with this. That is a daft strawman.

Lacking empathy is certainly not unusual. It's pretty damn disappointing though.

Why not just buy it used?

THQ gets nothing at that point.

They probably had no idea that stuff was on the website and decided to post there because it was decided on a whim without knowing all the details of the website. It's not the publisher's fault but the PR person, I don't see THQ proper as the ones responsible.

I'll be honest, that's rad. If there's one game I've always wanted to see a remaster/remake of, it was this one. Like, I love the game to death.

That said, no, fuck off THQ.

Aside from holding a mostly harmless ama, THQ Nordiq are pretty great. They're basically forgiven for being an idiot before in my eyes, hope Timesplitters is next.

Harmless? Harmless?! Signal boosting a site known for child porn, right wing terror, and white supremacy is harmless?! That event unleashed some uncomfortable and traumatizing memories, it caused my PTSD to act more than usual, and I had to set up at least two appointments a week for my therapist, and you call it harmless?!

They probably had no idea that stuff was on the website and decided to post there because it was decided on a whim without knowing all the details of the website. It's not the publisher's fault but the PR person, I don't see THQ proper as the ones responsible.

YES THEY DID, ENOUGH! YOU CANNOT EVEN GET INTO 8CHAN VIA GOOGLE SINCE THEY BLACKLISTED IT! THESE THINGS TAKE MONTHS OF PLANNING!!

Ever since they announced they acquired the license from Nickelodeon (which was in March 2018) and they were able to publish remasters of licensed games from the old THQ, a lot of people have been begging for this game, so for those who have been following this, it makes sense that Battle For Bikini Bottom is first. For others, I can definitely see why it's a surprise. The announcement tweet already got over 1800 retweets, so I guess there's demand for it lol.

You mean like supporting a site that shares child pornography which by existing, hurt people.

I think people forgot what kind of games THQ used to make. Lots and lots of kids games. Not everything is going to Metro and Darksiders.

Take it up with a mod. They've decided this is what they want to do. Folks who don't want to see it can easily ignore it if they like. I've had cases where I've disagreed with others on similar matters and I can manage go about my business without losing my mind and telling those who may care about an issue to fuck off or whatever else. I guess the answer would be for some of the posters here to just grow up.

No one HAS to respond to anyone cussing out THQ or make up silly arguments about how "fuck thq" also means fuck Janet, the single mother of two working in THQ's accounting division.

Yes, it is absolutely possible.

No thread has one point of discussion at all times. Folks discuss a variety of things. Both discussions can occur simultaneously in a thread.

No poster is obligated to respond to a particular discussion. The ignore feature is also helpful for anyone that wants to filter out particular discussion.

A thread is not a discussion between two people in real life. It's more like a dinner table with dozens of folks, all engaged in their own conversations.

Not saying it isn't a good game, but wow, all it took for some people to give them a pass over the pedochan incident was a PS2 platformer rerelease, huh?

This has been discussed to death. Arguing for plausible deniability in this case just doesn't line up with reality. I'm not sure why you're bothering to argue, as you said in one of your previous posts, you don't really care what they do.

Reinhard and some other higher ups were posting on that AMA.
They answered to "where the big tittie lolis at" "apparently here".
Their Twitter had "we are hosting an AMA on 8chan and we do not know why lol".

You don't find fucking 8chan on accident.

It was famously removed from Google search results because of said child pornography

Like, a 2 second Google search brings up stories about said delisting

Battle for Bikini Bottom was a fantastic game back in the day, excited to see how they handle the remake
