looks like they're gonna become even bigger, dish out more games, I wonder how long the distaste for the company will last.

Embracer is a very weird name to go with regardless of how many studios they've embraced into their collective @_@
Stick with Nordic, or just THQ Nordic. One is a known brand, the other is Representative of the region they are from and also of their origin.

Let's be reasonable with the snark. The 8 Chan sympathizer was THQ the Subsidiary, not the parent company. That's the whole reason for the name change.

They're keeping THQ Nordic, the problem was that both the holding and the subsidiary were named the same way. Now the holding group is going to be Embracer and THQ Nordic is just going to be one of the subsidiary.

Is deep silver under THQ the subsidiary or THQ now Embracer?

Deep Silver (Koch Media) is under Embracer and is more of a sister company to THQ Nordic now.

I'm going to miss the name THQ. Even though the current THQ isn't the same company as the previous THQ

So now instead of saying 'Fuck THQ', we have to say 'Fuck Embracer.' Sounds like a villan from a superhero film.

It was already mentioned in the thread, but I will repeat it for you.
THQ Nordic GmbH is not renaming. Their parent company (THQ Nordic AB) is. You will still find the THQ Nordic label on every other game box.

I hope this name change will get rid of some confusion THQ Nordic and Koch Media/Deep Silver discussions.
Although it might be far too late for that.

It's proposed name change for the parent company, not the product subsidiaries which are the brands like THQN and Deep Silver.

As far as consumer-facing brands are concerned, they'll still be keeping the THQN and Deep Silver label.

Basically

Embracer Group ( parent )
1. THQ Nordic
2. Koch Media
3. Coffee Stain

Boo hoo. What about dem feelings of the rich corporate dimwits who signalboosted pedos and Nazis (or the ones who didn't take any action towards those who did)

First you don't know that they didn't take action. .they just didn't take the action that you personally demanded and required to satisfy your take on this.

I'm all in favor of awareness do not agree with what they did what is the same time constantly name-dropping the site that they promote it isn't helping either. If you search for that site right now on here you find did reference buy more good members trying to do what's right than anything and unintentionally advertising it

The "8chan thing" will follow these guys everywhere regardless of what name they happen to sail under. And good, so it should.
Nobody should forget heinous shit like that.

This is a good move as be less confusing between parent company and developer for them even if the name isn't good considering it makes them seem there embracing 8chan and stuff now more.

I do not believe we need to forget it or let it go. However what you just did is part of the problem that we are currently creating. if you search for the website you mentioned on this website here there is over 1000 results. That means that we have indirectly advertised that website over 1000 times while trying to send a message that does the exact opposite.

They are a shity website. I would bet you that they know that they are a shity website. We're not giving them bad coverage. We're just giving them coverage.

As for THQ Nordic it's okay to be upset with what they did and never forget it, but if you want to do the most damage to them not talking about them hurts way more than talking badly about them.

I don't like to beat this drum but I can't but to think that our current president wouldn't be where he is right now if we didn't give him free coverage every time he did something stupid. His entire platform was wrong on free press from the other side.

with that said they have stuff true to their word so far and nothing like that has happened since. We don't need to let it go, but we can move on and watch out for this s***.

What an absolutely terrible name.

And no, I won't let go of a companies higher ups participating in an AMA on a site that was founded on the premise that fucking 4chan was to restrictive, i.e., they wouldn't let them openly post child pornography.

Among other things.
