For people who are looking to boycott games to be published by THQNordic and its subsidiary, Deep Silver. Here is the list:

Shenmue III
Biomutant
Desperados III
Fade to Silence
Aquanox Deep Silence
Generation Zero (I think Avalanche self publishes the Steam version)
Scarf
Wreckfest (console versions)
The Guild 3
Monster Jam Steel Titans
Darksiders: Warmastered Edition
The Bard's Tale IV: Barrows Deep (console versions)
Dead Island 2
As much as I hate to say this... Deep Silver is also the publisher for Outward, my most anticipated title this year.

I know some ISPs have already banned 8chan since they were exposed to be linked to child pornography, but yeah, more ISPs need to start taking action.
The ISP blacklisting of fringe right wing sites following Charlottesville was a crippling blow to those movements. It's the reason prominent figures on the Alt Right responded by advocating that they not make their rallies as high profile as that. because of the backlash they saw as a result of it. Hence why the protest the following year had virtually zero attendees.

Sadly, that's not enough anymore. If they need help i hope THQ will do something to help them but they have to be removed from the company.
I do not think that anyone wants to have any business relation with those people unless of course this person is a nazi.
You know, totally agree with you. Funny how karma works - they did this ignorant clusterfuck of a PR stunt and now the platform they chose supports the killings of innocent.

Seriously guys? You're starting to sound like they're actively supporting the shooting. This has nothing to do with the THQ incident.

Dont ban discussion on THQ Nordic games ffs just have a disclaimer, by definition banning discussion of the games you will be fueling the nazi fire
I do not think disclaimer will work. Maybe for the first page but the rest of them will have pics and gifs and hype and people will forget they gave their hard earned money to people that went hiding after they normalized nazis and pedophiles, a member of the latter went on to kill 50 people.

Ban them until they do what is proper and decent. It will do THQ good in the long run.

I'm out of words after this attack...

THQN really should donate to the victims or show empathy in another meaningful (!) way to the victims of this shooting. They are indirectly involved in this shooting, and they should take that responsibility.

Regarding a ban: it should be noted that the Koch Media/Deep Silver side and the Coffee Stain side of the company (including their marketing/community management departments) had nothing to do with the AMA and actively distanced themselves from 8chan even before that PR guy tweeted his 'apology'. So I'm personally against banning games from Deep Silver and Coffee Stain.

Enough of these shitty games. At this point, any signal boosting of THQ is also signal boosting the events that transpire and the site associated with it. Nah, I already have to live with the fact that THQ normalized a site that is linked to child porn and likely increased the chance of more people getting access to the sick media of me getting raped. This here, they gave 8chan more traffic, more visibility, so I will not be surprised if there's more people that stuck around after the AMA and are becoming radicalized as we speak, that will eventually lead to more right wing terrorism. That's the consequences that this little shit show caused, and they need to be punished for it.

THQ is knowingly employing people who are okay with 8chan and everything it stands for as evidenced by the fact that they were gonna hold an AMA there. Fuck any company which knowingly employs scumbags like that.

In my view they're complicit unless they publicly condemn the actions and call for consequences for those responsible.

Although I didn't think Sega were involved with Shenmue 3...
Even if they don't publicly condemned it....it doesn't make them complicit. It doesn't work that way. They have nothing to do with this.

Sorry yeah, but i really dont get the whole boycoyting THQ thing. Just because some morons on top made a dumb decision to associate themselves with 8chan you're no longer supporting them? There are a ton of people who are just doing what they love, which is making video games and at the end they're going to be the one punished by this. I'll still be buying their upcoming titles and by no means does that mean i approve of their behavior or views, it just means i want to support the devs who made something i'm interested in.

And trying to link them to this awful attack is even weirder. The thing with them happened 3ish weeks ago, it has nothing to do with this whatsoever.

I hope they do. Still waiting for consequences
I can understand why so many criticize us for being a "litch mob" because yikes?

What do you mean "consequences"? They apologized? Do you want everyone who worked in THQ to be fired?

I fail to see what THQ has to do with shooting,

The Orlando shooter was Redditer and documented all his stuff on a subreddit, dose that mean we gotta ban everyone who is slightly associated with reddit?

Somebody getting fired would be a start. You know, instead of nobody suffering any consequences.

I do not think they actively support what happened and i do not think anyone made such a claim excpet you but they refuse to fire their people that supported the community that cheered when the killings happened.

They hide the incident under the carpet but today's tragic events brought up the incident again. They can not escape this unless they do what is right.

All I ask for is the heads of those responsible for the AMA served to me on a platter with a side of fries and coleslaw, and by that I mean, I just want those responsible fired and shunned from this industry. I already have to live with the reality that there is child pornography of me floating around the dark net, now I have to live with the reality that a video game company signal boosted a site that's known to link child porn. What I'm asking for is for the company to take some damn responsibility, that's it. Not a half- hearted apology, not a vague promise of an investigation, not putting this under a run, but actual steps to fixing this shit.

I think its a complete reach to say that because the gunman posted on 8chan THQ Nordic supported it in any way at all. are we not forgetting it was also posted on twitter? should we ban anyone that posts on twitter too? There's no downplaying the AMA, that should never have happened if they'd have done any research at all but this is in no way linked to THQ.

What i'm tying to say it is it could have been just as easily been posted on reddit or facebook or even here. should THQ be punished for associating with the site? of course, there's no argument against that but this incident isn't connected to them at all.

Or better, apply pressure for the things to change.
This is why the whataboutisms around YouTube and Twitter are pointless. Both sites are able to change with enough pressure.

8**** will never change. It’s a designated hotspot for child abuse and terrorism. It needs to be shut down and anyone who platforms it needs to be fired.

I always find it funny when people spout this "PLEASE SUPPORT THE DEVS" rhetoric during times like this, but never apply the same logic when a dev ships a bad game.

The rhetoric that the shooter believed in can be found all over the site with a cursory glance, THQ knew what the site stood for, they knew before hand what they were getting themselves into. Their actions caused 8chan to get more publicity, more traffic, and likely more followers, they have to accept that there is a chance they increased the likelihood of more people being exposed to radical beliefs and with it a chance that these people might become terrorists.

Yeah, how about firing people who are responsible for shit like this?
How about more than just a lame apology on twitter and then moving on like business as usual?
This is not something that was totally unexpected to happen, this was doing an AMA on fucking 8chan for christ sake

very valid point and I can see i was not thinking about that side of it.

i'm generally not sure that THQ did know what 8chan was about but the fact it has chan in the name should ring alarm bells straight away if you ask me.

They willingly did an AMA on a website that lets terrorists, pedophiles and many other terrible people foster. They deserve to be boycotted and be called forever until the shitstains who did that and supported it are fired.

They supported the beliefs and ethics of 8chan by directly promoting it and not punishing those involved in the incident which is just as bad. If they don't fire those people, THQ is directly taking a side in this.

Since there wasn’t any consequence, I’m led to believe management and ppl at the top think the AMA wasn’t a big deal. On a site that normalizes white nationalism, hate speech, homophobia, child porn, and now where the shooter was advertising his attack. You really don’t get the whole ‘boycotting thing’?

I’m not trying to support the people in management who wanted to associate with the site. Your money goes to those people, it’s that simple.

They were actively supporting a locale which had no interest in discouraging people from using the rhetoric that led to the shooting, nor from celebrating the shooting. It's not actively supporting the shooting itself, but let's not be under the impression that that stance isn't also deeply, deeply uncomfortable.

Anyone involved with this stunt needs to go. From top to bottom. To me that's the ultimate goal here. I originally didn't not think a boycott was necessarily justified but a boycott meant to pressure them to fire those involved to me makes sense. Any of the devs under the THQNordic banner not also have the responsibility to pressure them as well. The amount of lives and livelihoods this is affecting is drastic and the choices of a few are not affecting a great deal.

In sure THQ didn't know better when they did the AMA

I'm also sure they would have not done it now if they knew this was the type of people in 8chan

At least understand the motivations before you pop off in ignorance.

We are mad at THQ for two reason.

The first is that they increased awareness of a website where some users are known to be engaged in dangerous illegal activity like swatting, doxxing and sharing child porn.

The 2nd is that clearly multiple low level and high level employees actively pandered to 8chan members who expressed racist, and sexist thoughts while multiple of rated R level violence and legal forms of child sexualization were posted.

Gotta love that tangential relationship. Maybe we should self-flagellate because a lot of us once shared a website with amir0x. After all, by this logic that makes us all supporters of his crimes.

ok first of all calm down..

Secondly, a game tester in bloody Malmø or bloody Marsielle whos livelihood is dependent on the game they worked 4 years on succeeding should suffer because a dickhead in vienna made a stupid decision. Its not like he can do anything about it and the game they have made is nothing to do with 8chan....?

Additionally THQ are the publisher. Like WTF at making SHENMUE suffer because of this. Yu Suzuki is a white supremacists by your logic.
