Let us just say that I have reason to trust the information I have. As for why it has been up so long, take this with a grain of salt since this is what my personal impression is based on the information that I have: the entire topic must have blown up so massively in the team's face that most of them are scared stiff right now and don't wanna touch this matter with a 10 feet pole.

Thanks for sharing what you can then

Wow, this thread's cancer is spreading big time.
Let me quote this post again: What are you calling "cancer"?

Cancer is a fucking strong word. It's a disease that has caused misery and horror and suffering since before the dawn of mankind. I have lost a few family members to cancer, as have many of the people in this thread.

Now please, explain what pissed you off so much you decided to name it after one of the most horrible diseases in human history? A disease that represents the horror of one's own body and life becoming a blight?

Yeah, maybe it's just me. I just don't quite get why we're rapidly approaching 100 pages because of an extremely dumb marketing move, analyzing every Tweet and Name that comes up. It's just rather unsettling to me.
Don't worry you're definitely not the only person downplaying the fact that a company chose to associate itself with a website that shares child porn.

15 hours later and the trolls aren't getting any more creative.

I don't mean to troll, honestly. I just saw the thread and read the OP and I was like: "Holy cow, this is really bad and really stupid. Probably PR failure of the year, if not even more. It might even damage the industry and they could've also just said "Alright, let's set ourselves on fire, maybe it will be fun, let's see. Come join us!"

And then I was wondering why the thread has 82 pages. A thread about a topic that is by all means and standards really really bad.

Toxi: Maybe because of posts like this one?

THQ N, where the N stands for Nazis.

That's the thing that upsets you? Not the fact that senior management for a major company did an AMA on a stite that hosts pedophiles and white supremacists, but that?

Oh. Ok.

Yes a joke about THQ N embracing pedonazis is really a cancer that needs to be excised.
Maybe you could keep your outrage for shit like... I don't know publicly traded companies promoting CP or something.
But no, the real issues are the people making fun of the companies that make the toys you like to buy.

The ONLY good thing that came out of this bullshit is that I can ignore the pedo lovers in this site.

Fuckers coming out of the woodwork like cockroaches.

It's always amusing when someone has an account for like a year, barely posts, and then sees a thread like this and thinks "yes, this... this is where I'll be the most active I've ever been in my entire history on Era. By finger-wagging people mad about [checks notes] nazi pedophiles."

What even is your argument here? "Don't discuss terrible news"?
Significant events are likely to generate discussion, I'm surprised I have to explain to you that talking about a subject does not mean condoning or supporting it.
If there's a school shooting do you go "oh man how are there so many people talking about a SHOOTING?? That's really bad!"

Well shit, I really hoped yesterday it was a PR rep gone rogue, but with the latest updates...

The fuck were they thinking? Why damage your company and its image in such a way? I rarely boycott, but I'm sadly going to have to vote with my wallet on this and avoid their games. It's the developers who were just trying to get by and release games that I feel really sorry for.

Yeah, ever heard of Reddit AMA? And what the fuck is even 8chan, is there 16chan?

I have never been to 4chan either, since I heard there is a lot of gore in there and I hate that. Misc™ is enough for my guilty pleasure forum.

In any case, sick cynism or dumb naivety, people who profesionnaly decided and endorsed this aren't in their place.

No matter how excuses will be formulated, it's not a missteps but a disaster for the company image and all their entities.

So the main company still has three business day to react.

To give you the benefit of the doubt - it has 82 pages because this thread was discussing very much a developing story.
Like, at the creation of this thread, the AMA was announced, for like 10 pages people were in utter disbelief and discussing whether or not this was legit or if the account had been hacked. This warranted discussion / reaction.

Then we received confirmation from press sources who confirmed that this was indeed THQ nordic. So people discussed 8chan and the AMA itself, including the posts they made there.

Then people discussed THQs silence while at the same time 'liking' a tweet saying that the outrage is just people being overly "sensitive"

Then the """"apology""""" came and people discussed the plausibility / sincerity of what said apology is stating; and possible further consequences THQ would need to take to distance themselves from this whole shitfest.

That's why the thread has so many pages. It's a dumpster fire in like ... 4 acts.

You called this thread a cancer before you said anything negative about the child porn support that caused it to be made. That is worthy of being questioned.

As THQ Nordic are based in Austria, an Austrian newspaper covered this now too: https://derstandard.at/200009866305...agestunde-auf-beruechtigter-Seite-und-es-geht

The article is obviously in German, and the only new news is a statement they got from Philipp Brock, quoted indirectly:

Gegenüber dem STANDARD fügte der Marketing-Chef der Wiener Niederlassung hinzu, dass während dem "AMA" sehr wohl moderiert wurde und besagte Postings sehr schnell weg waren. Besagte Screenshots mit dem problematischen Material würden somit nicht den eigentlichen Verlauf des Stelldicheins widerspiegeln, da jene Person, die an das Unternehmen herangetreten war, sich sehr wohl um die Moderation gekümmert hätte.
"Speaking to the Standard [the newspaper in question], the head of marketing of the Vienna branch [of THQ Nordic] said that during the 'AMA', there definitely had been moderation taking place and the worst postings had been deleted. The screenshots containing problematic material thus would not reflect the actual course of what happened, because the person contacting the company actually did moderate the AMA."

I'm not quite sure which postings he's talking about, because some of them they actually answered to weren't all that nice either.

Disgraceful.

Feels like it's only a matter of time before the middle man is cut out and these reprehensible companies just post disgusting shit and be flat out racist on twitter.

Oh, they finally removed the link.

They did? They suddenly realized that a hollow apology is not enough if you continue to link to a site with nazi pedophiles for many more hours?

The damage is already done. No one should trust THQN until they fire the two imbeciles responsible for this debacle.

A pretty notable publisher just did an AMA on 8chan and left the link to it up for 15 hours on their Twitter.

What is life, y'all?
