This is such a horrific event. I hope that someone in upper management in THQ will feel remorse over advertising this vile, vile website.
I re edited my post soon after i saw the full story. And i agree on any THQ ban until they sack the fools that did the AMA.

I agree. At this point, giving them money is just supporting boosters of white supremacy. Anything that Resetera can do to cut down on advertising their games (No OT's for individual games for example or heavily regulated OTs) is moral and needed.
As a former fan, This new development is exactly what I was worried about with THQ getting wrapped up with a site like that. I enjoyed their output as a company and they had to go and associate themselves with that hell hole where people cheer on mass shooters while murder is being livestreamed..... Hope everyone who was kicking up sand to obfuscate the issue on behalf of THQ and 8chan feel fucking ashamed of themselves. You enable this shit when you enable video game companies to recruit for these types of hate sites with their stupid ass shock value marketing. God have mercy on the poor souls who lost their lives to a emboldened white supremacist. And may God have mercy on their families who have to pick up the pieces.

if there is THQ Nordic employees right now with shreds of dignity left after the last fiasco, I sincerely hope now they're considering looking for work elsewhere. I know as someone who works in game dev, I wouldn't want to be associated with a company like this. Even if it hurt me financially in the short term. This is even more disgusting than originally stated.

We're far beyond that now. This is why people got so upset when GamerGate happened, because they knew that kind of hate only leads to escalation, and now here we are.
It's going to get even worse than this if dramatic action isn't taken. It always gets worse. Learn from history.
If they don't either a) put out a statement that says everyone involved with the AMA will be fired ASAP, or b) actually fire everyone involved with the AMA in the next couple of hours, then I'm perfectly fine with banning all THQN discussion from this site.
They waited too long to take action. It's clear after tonight that the only acceptable action at this point is to fire everyone who was involved in promoting 8chan and posting on it. It needs to be done immediately.

Prior to the thq situation I sort of knew what 8chan was but not truly. After the thq thing, I DEFINITELY learned what a shit hole that site is. Thq ABSOLUTELY signal boosted it and people need to be fired from their company.
Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, Valve, Epic etc. should seriously consider purging THQ from their platforms/stores until every idiot at THQ involved with the 8chan ama is fired. Fuck any company which knowingly employs people like this.
It may be prudent to mention that the AMA itself contained glorification of violence against minorities, which not everyone might have noticed. Besides the more general Nazi stuff (the opening "heil hitler") and the image posted of a crusader in Knights Templar colours, which are more indirect dog-whistle like celebrations of violence against Jewish and Muslim people, there was the image posted with the name "hans_judenjaeger.jpg" (Hans Jewhunter).

Aaand now I'm flashing back to all the people who told me that PewDiePie flirting with white supremacy wasn't a big deal because it's not like he's a real Nazi. I almost feel like this should be a separate thing. There are a bunch of gaming or gaming adjacent issues that have been talked about that haven't been taken seriously enough, and this highlights that.
Wholeheartedly agreed, but it won't happen. "User driven initiatives" aren't enough. They never would have been, because they're less visible and incapable of fully encompassing THQ thread titles.
To actually put out what modicum of pressure the largest enthusiast gaming forum is capable of, staff need to be involved, even if it isn't banning discussion of their games — even if it's merely a disclaimer in all their thread titles until such a time as action is taken against those involved in the AMA.

Agreed. If the discussions aren't banned, every thread for every game they publish should be full of people pointing out what a dispicable company they are.
i understand the sentiment, but i think it's more important to allow the discussions and allowing the community to make sure this follows them every time they're mentioned in the future.
