The "plethora of different emotions" thing is...really, really hard to take in a relateable way. This was a situation that started with the greeting "Heil Hitler." A situation you could stop contributing to.

It comes across like "On the one hand, I do think non-white people are inferior, and have an unsafe attraction to children, but I also know how it could look bad that I'm co-promoting a blacklisted site rooted in that through my job. It's all very conflicting, so it was important that I keep my cool, and continue actively doing exactly what I chose to do originally, including joking amicably about those specific topics."

What the flying fuck were they thinking? I really hope this isn't representative of THQNordic as a whole. Buying all these IPs and studios only to tank your business almost immediately is nuts.

Director of business and production development at THQ Nordic, Reinhard Pollice, ladies and gentlemen.

This dude is part of THQ Nordic's Board and Management: http://www.thqnordic-investors.com/en/board-and-management/

Just to repeat: One of the 7 members of THQ Nordic's Board and Management team just said that a meme captioned "Cease Your Faggotry" could be from one of their upcoming games.

THQ Nordic just shot themselves in the foot.

I don't know how much the rest of you know about 8chan culture (I'm clearly not an expert), but child porn and racism are huge parts of it. It's not like it is in 4chan where you can become successful by being an asshole. If you get screwed by Mark over at 8chan, you bring shame to your whole damn company and the only way to get rid of that shame is "honest" repentance.

What this means is the gaming public, after hearing about this, is not going to want to listen to your backpedaling, nor will they purchase any of THQ Nordic's games. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but THQ Nordic has alienated an entire market with this move.

THQ Nordic, publicly apologize and retroactively cancel the AMA at 8chan or you can kiss your business goodbye.

Mark chuckled. "You mean the nasty stuff?"

I had no idea there was an "8chan", and honestly to this day I have no fucking clue what 4chan actually looks like or what it is exactly. To all the people who greenlighted this, what the fuck is wrong with you?

If this isn't dealt with robustly, it would be nice to see publishing partners withdraw from deals with them.

Just what the industry needs more people getting fired. Good luck PR manager you're gonna need a lot in the future, the mob will ensure you never find work again.
Nobody is entitled to any job. If you pull of a stunt like this, you deserve to be fired. As for his future work options, I wouldn't exactly worry. Scum like this always lands on its feet. That's the trouble with this world.

I noticed that the Reinhard post where he replies to the homophobic knight image has the same ID as Philip's posts. It could be that Phillip was using Reinhard's name, or it could just be that they're using the same computer or are subnetting same IP address or something along those lines.

The "upper brass" are the people responsible for this at the end of the day. The buck stops with them. If they are allowed to continue on in managerial and executive roles, there is no reason to believe this won't happen again. Everybody from PR on up needs to be terminated immediately, and anyone hired by these people, or by people hired by these people, need to be thoroughly evaluated before being allowed to continue on in any kind of leadership or decision making role.

I agree everyone guilty needs to be fired. There also needs to be an investigation (by the press or internally from THQ, whatever is more substantial) if this is typical of their workplace culture. Optimally, there needs to be a transparent communication from THQ (unlikely) about just how many people were involved in this. Unfortunately, companies are made up of people. People can be terrible. People can also be bold out of nowhere and combine that with being terrible, just like the anti-diversity memo circulating from that former Google engineer awhile back. Although, obviously that is several leagues more tame than this. Also, we have easily identifiable top brass from THQ here embroiled in this.

If the company ever wants to climb out of this hole, they need to be communicating more. I have already seen a ton of justified "Welp, I guess no more THQ Nordic for me" posts, but I don't want that to be end of it. If it can be fixed, it should. If the company can salvage it's reputation and take a stand against this kind of abhorrent behavior, it should. I am sick of assuming the destiny of everything I like about this hobby is a flaming dumpster.

Like, how does this keep happening.

Either the higher ups of these companies don't know or care

Or these guys are really good at hiding their true colors until they suddenly start catering to shitheels

Or some combination of both

Because I refuse to believe anyone at THQ thought this was a good idea other than this dude.

What a disaster. Imagine working for THQ and waking up to this news. And then going into work, not knowing if you should talk about it or pretend it didn't happen.
