From what I heard though, there needs to be a solid legal case for firing someone in Sweden and the 8chan thing is not really grounds for termination over there, so it was always gonna be hard.
I'm going to assume you both were legitimately unaware that THQ recently had employees do a Q&A on a literal child porn website, which is why the person you quoted said their tweet was tone deaf.
Do you expect them to reference their childporn site AmA in their Spongebob game marketing? What world do you live in?
There will be no decrease. 99.99999% of people don't know or care about the 8chan thing.
i doubt it, these boycotts rarely have any tangible effects, much less this one where it's mostly talked about here on era and not really in any other gaming community. at this point i think people are just boycotting them for moral and ethical reasons (which i respect since that AMA and associating with that website was a vile thing to do), i doubt anyone thinks it'll have a big effect on thq nordic's business.
I haven't thought about some of the dusty old IP's THQ has acquired for a long time.
The one thing I remember the most about Joint Ops is that the helicopters handled like they were guided by invisible rails. Just up down left right. This was compared to Battlefield 2 though, so maybe it was actually fine, because BF2 helicopters are probably still the most maneuverable in the whole series.
That's probably Joint Ops in general, it was fine but worse than one of the best Battlefields.
I think Joint Ops allowed for a higher player count though.
A new one would be absolutely incapable of competing with Battlefield. Just from a budget standpoint.
World War 3 is trying to do Battlefield 3 on a lower budget, don't know how well that's doing.
Delta Force had an impressive draw distance at the time. You couldn't really make out what the hell that voxel was supposed to be, but you sure could spot it at an unusually great distance. Don't recall exactly what else Delta Force was about. Was it kind of tech demo-y? Don't know if I'd want a modern equivalent? it'd probably just be some kind of Call of Duty?
This reason I consider more valid than plenty of them.
Not buying a game requires very little sacrifice and conviction, and has the added benefit of saving you money.
If you really want to spend it on a game, there's thousands of others to choose from. Or buying used is a decent compromise.
Some say it wouldn't be fair to the hundreds of people working at or for THQ who had nothing to do with this.

And judging by how things are going, I don't think you have to worry too much about the innocent employees of THQ. I think they'll manage.
They ought to seek work elsewhere if/when possible.
We want the company that knowingly signal-boosted a Nazi pedo terrorist site to be held accountable, but wait, we should shut up about that, because bringing it up makes you bothered and bored.
Nothing is stopping anyone from discussing THQ's games.

They have Piranha Bytes now, don't they? Maybe PB is making a new RPG? Tomorrow and Friday will be the two other games?
I find it suspicious that the first game got revealed at 4pm CEST, while the other two are at 7pm CEST on their own days. 7pm CEST tomorrow is one hour after the start of the Google Stadia presentation and since the CEO was talking so much about new platformholders (and even namedropped Google), I wouldn't be surprised if we'll see their second game during Stadia Connect.
I'm not sure you know what the term "tone deaf" means if this is your response.
Look, they still owe it to everyone to take action, but being tone-deaf is about context. Very few people will even know and make the connection to the 8chan thing when they see this PR trailer for a video game. Especially the kids that this is aimed at. It's like expecting Nestlé to mention child labour when selling chocolate.

So guessing the last 2 are darksiders and red faction since they've both ha e been hinted at or leaked by different sources. I also believe destroy all humans was leaked/ hinted at so I thought those might be the three and I was excited, but ya, guess I'll still be waiting for destroy all humans return 😔
Man, that's crazy. Never really thought about it like that. I still don't know why they thought it was a good idea to make a game just like Saints Row but with hero shooter-type stuff included and have it be not actually part of the SR franchise. Such an odd decision.

I think it was a similar situation to 4chan. For years the site owners looked the other way, but in recent years actually crack down on it.
This is still obviously worse than something like Twitter or Reddit though. It's not allowed on those platforms at all, but that doesn't mean it doesn't get posted in flagrant violations of those rules.
I think you may be on to something. There is going to be a Simpsons related panel at E3 so it may well be related.
Spongebob probably means no Timesplitters as the other two are going to be Red Faction and Darksiders judging by the leaks so that's a shame.
It was published by Vivendi so Activision will have the rights to the original code of the game (not the IP though obviously).
I almost kind of hope they don't announce Destroy All Humans this way. Idk what that would mean lol.

But a new Red Faction, man I am excited. Bring us Guerilla destruction, or actually a evolution of that, a cool open world and not like Armageddon. That just didn't do it for me at all. I wonder, is the same team still on RF then?
