I was just looking at my PAL and JP copies of Nights into Dreams and it struck me that I much, much prefer the PAL art to the Japanese art.

Or, on the flip side, the art for Uncharted 2 was absolutely fantastic in Japan. So good!

There's a lot of PAL=JP>>US examples out there lol.

But one cover that I really regret we never got in the west:

Trash seems hyperbolic for this one. I actually much prefer the PAL color scheme and associate those colors more with BotW, where the US one looks closer to the Twilight Princess color palette. Either way, a time of day and pose change with slightly different terrain hardly qualifies a big enough difference for one to be trash compared to the other...

I'm sorry I have to go with the Japanese one here. You are seeing the terror this dinosaur is experiencing as it realizes that a man is about to stab it in the eye. Also it's called Violence Killer. VIOLENCE KILLER.

Japan got the better box art for nearly every Souls title. I think the art was the same for DS3 (Soul of Cinder giving a thumbs up).

The PAL one is way better, it actually has a palette representative of the actual game for starters.

Fire Fades had different box art and Jesus Christ it's SO much better in Japan it's sad.

I would love to know the reasoning for some covers being different. I know it's because or targetting different audiences or the different tastes of the regions, but I mean the specifics. Like, why did we get the fantastic RE4 box arts in Europe for the GC/Wii while the other regions just got CG characters? Why did the US get the awful Ico? Why the different box arts for the Souls games? Like, who made the choice and why did they do it?
