I currently have this rig:
- i5-8600k with a slight OC to 4.5
- msi Duke GTX 1080ti no OC
- 16gb DDR4 ram 2400
- 1440p ->144hz with GSYNC

what kind of fps can I expect with everything at ultra with either DX11 or 12 at the resolution mentioned above?

Guru3d has benchmarks with retail code plus the latest NVIDIA/AMD drivers here:

https://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/the_division_2_pc_graphics_performance_benchmark_review,1.html

No 1% frametimes sadly but looks like mainstream GPUs like the 1660 Ti and RX 590 will be fine at 1080p/Ultra with VRR, with 1440p requiring Vega 64 or RTX 2070 to break 60 fps average, and 4K being limited to the 2080 Ti. 2080 and VII will need to degrade some settings to be playable at 4K60.

My experience on Radeon VII is that 1440p is very playable and smooth in DX12. No crashes so far. Game looks gorgeous and you can tweak settings even above Ultra (wasn't available in the public beta?) but still be over 60 fps.

This is at the Ultra preset, except I turned down Volumetric Fog from Ultra to High(which gave me about a 5-7 fps increase in the benchmark) and I turned up Reflections from Medium to High since for some reason it defaults to the former in the Ultra preset. The Ultra preset also leaves Shadows at High instead of Very High, which I left alone, and I turned off Vignetting/Chromatic Aberration which probably have basically no effect on performance, but I figured I'd might as well mention it.

Like most benchmarks, this thing doesn't seem terribly great at actually be indicative of in-game performance. The general gameplay seems to hover more in the 70s-80s region, shooting up past that mostly when I get into interiors like the White House base.

Overall though, pretty satisfied with performance.

Pretty pleased with performance overall. Played through a little bit and getting some nice smooth performance with dx12. My aging cpu is definitely a bottleneck though. Will be buying new ryzen cpu when they come out. Currently running overclocked Vega 56 and very pleased with it.

Does the retail game run better than the beta? Anyone with a 3570k or similar CPU?
I didn't run any benchmarks, but it seems to run better than the open beta, but it just might be in my head.

I'm running a 3570K at 4.2Ghz with an RX 570 at 1395/2025 and 8GB of 1600 RAM in DX11 mode and I get an average of 68fps using the High preset at 1080p in the built-in benchmark. I saw my fps drop to ~45 during one part of the benchmark.. probably CPU bound. Sucks that DX12 mode still stutters like crazy on my rig... it helps with performance a lot.

Anyone else having their settings reset every time you start up again?
Why am I seemingly the only one that can't get it to run at 1440p and dx12? It always resets!
Me and it's doing my head in

Did you set your game's settings files to read-only during the closed-beta to avoid the no-voice bug on non-English systems ?
As the final game uses the same files, it may be still read-only.

So only during coop on missions ill get legit 1-4 crashes then rejoin when i restart.
Is this a known bug?
Will that posted reddit fix help any?

Well I'm red faced! The OC on my 1080ti was causing the hang/crash. It didn't occur to me initially as I OC'd my card a year ago and every game I've played since (easily 20+) have been fine. In fact I think I played The Division too and it was fine.
But I doubt it's the cause of all the game crashes being reported. Still it's a tad embarrassing for me. I wonder what specifically is causing the crash? Maybe I should inform the devs all the same?

I've read something about players using multiple drones at the same time or using certain skills and movements/actions whilst using drones.

Turn on resolution scaling to 85% (no real image quality loss) and you should be averaging around 80-100fps.

Could I hit 4K/30 FPS/Ultra pretty consistently with this?

ASUS Turbo RTX 2080
16GB DDR4 3200hz RAM
i7 9700K

Should be fine. Looking at the guru 3d benchmarks it seems like a 2080 gets around 50 fps at 4k ultra settings. Turn down some graphical features and you might be able to push 4k60. From what I understand too running at 85% scaling offers virtually no visual loss which will give you a free performance boost.

We have basically the same setup except I have a 8700k and I get around 90ish on average, has dropped to 70~ a few times and has went to 130-140 in doors before. Overall it feels and plays great to me.

Thanks. Sounds promising I guess, since I was getting awful framerates and stuttering with the beta using a 1080 Ti and a 4.5ghz 3570k + 16gb

The more I see I'm really impressed with how smoothly the game runs. Looks good and while it's more demanding than the first game it runs well:

Anyone have trouble with the UI not positioning properly with DSR resolutions? I have to use the keyboard to navigate above 1080

I guess DX12 is unplayable for me too. Runs better but crashes constantly, unless it's setting related (Ultra)?

Game runs really good averaging 79fps at 4K on a 2080ti, everything maxed out but using 85% resolution scale that honestly i find it really hard to distinguish from 100% scaling.

Graphics are also very good although i find the wet NY streets from Division 1 more visual appealing.

Good job ubisoft!

I'm playing with a 2060/3570k OC'd to 4.6 ghz and it plays like absolute shit. Frequent hitching and massive slowdowns. Definitely seems to be a CPU issue too, my GPU sits at around 58% utilization while the CPU shoots up to 100% again and again. I'm playing in DX12, maybe it would help to switch to DX11.

I'm upgrading as soon as I can.

I can't get 1440p on my laptop as I get well, just a corner of the game on the display! Overscan is it? That and no res scaling above 100% means I'm stuck at 1080p when I'm pretty sure I can hit 1440p@40fps (g-sync creates weird artifacts so I need a multiple of 120 for a smooth display). Really odd display options in this game. Certainly more bugs/issues than there seems at first.
I currently have this rig:
- i5-8600k with a slight OC to 4.5
- msi Duke GTX 1080ti no OC

Similar to me with a 4.8 oc'd 8600k. Good your 1080ti isn't oc'd as that may lead to crashing.
Frames at everything at Ultra on a 3440x1440 can be upto 80fps in confined areas to 58-60fps in busy, detailed areas. I could probably get a few more fps by dialling back a few options or scaling res back to 85%. Shame the oc on my 1080ti causes crashes. I could get 3-5fps more. This is my desktop by the way. My laptop can't get 1440p.

HDR is so fucking weird in this game. Sometimes it'll auto-initialise and other times I have to activate HDR on my display settings or it looks all washed out.

im pretty confident 8gb is not enough for this game. ive been testing with 8 for the past day and the game stutters a LOT in DX12. Switching to DX11 gets rid of the stutters (for the most part) but the framerate stays in the 40's for me. testing over a friends house with about the same setup but with 16gb of ram results in a way more smoother experience for me.

my setup
RX 570 4GB
Ryzen 5 1400
8GB RAM

friends setup
RX 570 4GB
Ryzen 5 1500x
16gb RAM

both setups play at over 60 frames with medium/high settings but only my friends pc can play solid with no stutters/hitching

I can't really see a difference between 85% and 100%. I'll probably stick with 85% for the extra fps.

Crash on GTX 1080 and AMD 2700x newest drivers, ultra preset, Directx12.
Edit: And another one.
No crashes on DX11 tho, so DX12 is broken.

When using my mouse in-game the game stutters when I turn. Using a gamepad it doesn't at all.

Is there anything specific that is likely to be the cause of this?

Cross-posting from the PC gaming thread. any ideas would be very welcome.

-

So I've noticed in The Division 2 moving the camera with my mouse causes very noticeable stutter. See the video. I do a lap with my KB&M, then the character stops as I pick up my gamepad and repeat the lap.

You'll see with the gamepad there's no stutter.

I've tried changing polling rates, DPI and sensitivity.
I have mouse acceleration disabled in windows.
I have the mouse smoothing options in TD2 off.

Any ideas from here?

Is it anything to do with my cheap mouse? I don't see this issue listed in reviews, or online.

Playing with gamepad now as it's too much, but I'd much rather use KB&M. Cheers!

Runs like a dream for me. Constant 60+ FPS at 1440p with 100% resolution scale, mostly around 70 outside and 90-100 inside. i5 6600K at 4.4 GHz + RTX 2070.

DX12, everything maxed except for volumetric fog on high and extra streaming distance at 0.

Seems really well optimized and looks really good, the lighting is a massive upgrade over Div 1.

Haven't had a single crash in DX12 as well, turned off the in game overlay and it's been super stable for me. No issues with stutter, installed on an SSD.

Damn, I totally fucked up, bought a region locked version of this on G2A and the only language options when downloading it are Russian and another one I'm not sure of. Once it was downloaded there was no way that i could see to change it to English. No English language file to be found in the game folder. I can get into the game just fine but I can't read any of it. I've purchased region locked stuff in the past and have been able to install with a VPN no prob but this language/region lock is a first. Not sure what to do now. Can't get a refund because I've used the key and I contacted UBI and they told me there was nothing they could do and told me to contact G2A lol. Anyone happen to know of a way around this? So bummed :(

Have the same setup practically (different 2080) and I just ran the benchmark at 4K/Ultra, getting 50 FPS.

I prefer to just go for 1440p Ultra, which with can get a 90 FPS average . But I also game on a 4K HDR 60 Hz tv, so I just opt to turn V Sync on for 60 FPS.

You can try for a refund if the seller didn't show it was region locked when you bought it. Otherwise SOL.

Weird, I started getting more noticeable freezing (for just like a second) starting today in DX 11. It wasn't really an issue yesterday but today it got a lot more noticeable and annoying, anyone else?

On a 2600k/1070.

I think it might be server related. I had decent performance yesterday but today has just been horrific. Constant stuttering/pausing during play that can sometimes go for as long as 2-3 seconds
