Here are 2 benchmarks from from yesterday at 100% resolution scale and dx11:

tRtaptj.jpg

And one from tonight at 85% resolution and dx12:

I think I might have changed a setting between the 2 but I am not 100% sure.

Everything is set to highest settings although I turned off depth of field, lens flare, CA, etc. I can turn a few settings from ultra/very high and average about 120 fps.

You said it yourself, no? 100% resolution in the first, 85% in the second. Edit: ah you prob meant in addition to that.

I got +10fps from DX12 over 11, and +10fps from 100% Res Scaling to 85%. So that's where it's all coming from.

Yeah. I was just posting to show that I got similar results to yours. Pretty nice improvements IMO especially since dx12 is usually borked or pointless in most game releases.

Might try and go for 120fps as the games visuals seem to scale well. I can live with high instead of ultra/very high in this game.

Ah, right. And yes, it's the first game that's had a significant increase in DX12 for me. Feels good!

I was able to play for several hours without crashing tonight on DX12 by disabling all of my overlays (Uplay & Nvidia). With only Uplay overlay enabled, I was able to play for about an hour before it crashed. Fingers crossed that this fixed DX12 for me.

Wish there were more AA options than just the levels of TXAA that you can't even adjust via in-game menus.

Try switching off the Uplay overlay. It's been posted on Reddit since the beta that it makes DX12 unstable. There have been positive results posted here too (possibly back in the beta performance thread).

Perhaps worth adding to the OP, JaseC

Anybody reporting any WORSE performance in the final release compared to the beta? As long as the game runs the same or better as the beta then I'm good. I'm on a GTX 1070 and I got a fairly consistent 60fps at 1440p in the beta.

Running this on a 1440p monitor is going to be an adventure for me I think....looking forward to the challenge.

DX12 runs quite a bit better for me.

11% less CPU usage is striking.

Seems a few people on the Ubi forum are getting random hangs/crashes like me. I've tried everything imaginable and all I've discovered is it's something to do with the Ultra settings. Currently have a Support ticket with Ubisoft and giving them the info they require.

i5 6600K at 4.4GHz paired with an RTX 2070, curious if DX12 will still give me better performance or if it'll just bring out a CPU bottleneck.

I have the same similar set up (minus OC speeds) and when I ran compared using the benchmark tool, DX12 was actually worse performance wise. Be interested to see what results you get.

Anyone worked out how to fix this awful pausing/stuttering? This is a leftover from the beta which I'm not happy about

You have an AMD card? I wonder if these hangs/crashes are primarily on Nvidia cards? Also I got a hang and crash on high settings today, in DX11 and DX12. Seems to ba a fundemental issue at play here. Will try to lower settings but the other day I played for a good 30 minutes in DX11 and High. Crash usually happens in 5 to 10 minutes.

Found this on Reddit...alot of ppl saying it fixes the crashing in DX12.

Will test it out soon

1: Find the location of your 'TheDivision2.exe" application

2: Right click it and Select properties

3: Click on the Tab labeled "Compatibility"

4: Check the box that says "Disable full screen optimizations"

5: Click on "Change high DPI settings"

6: Check the box that says "Override high DPI scaling behavior. Scaling performed by."

7: Select "Application" in the drop down box. Click ok

Then make sure next time you boot up Division that DX12 is on and that you restarted the game.

Hopefully this helps some of you with the constant crashes. The frame rate boost is so important with DX12 to enjoy it more.

[EDIT] - Make sure that your Steam overlay and your Ubisoft Overlay are turned off.

Hm, no issues for the final version, but since today I got two crashes or more like two freezes within 30 minutes. Sound remains, but everything else is frozen and I need to Alt+F4 out of the game.

Game update today and big Windows 10 update, latest Nvidia driver is installed, not sure if it's the game today with the update or Windows update...

Just completed a 40min play session in DX12 mode after applying that workaround and so far so good. Beforehand I had a crash within about 20mins

All these workarounds and fixes really should'nt be needed. It's a real problem.

Oh I agree ... DX12 was an issue in Div 1 as well, I had to play that in DX11 so this is nothing new at all. I'd love for this to be fixed officially so we don't have to apply these hacks.

IIRC DX12 wasn't in Div 1 at launch and was patched in at a later date....but I could never get any stability using it.

So in general is there any benefit of picking DX12 over 11? I have an i7-7700 with GTX1070 and my gf has an AMD Ryzen with an RX 580

Mine's crashed twice during character creation and once when I'm about to see the quartermaster for the first time, pretty bummed.

6.5 hours in and no issues. Running medium preset on DX12 and sitting at 144fps most of the time. GTX 1080/8600k @ 4.8GHz.

For some reason I get screen tearing no matter what v-sync options I set in or outside the game. Not even running in borderless seems to help. This is the first game where nothing seems to be able to get rid of it and it's aggravating.

Anyone got an idea how to fix this?
