Right, Joel McHale mocked THE VERY THINGS PEOPLE ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT on ResetEra, but those some people seem to hate Joel McHale for doing so.People genuinely skipping the show because of this? The fuck outta here, you never were going to watch anyway.
The guy was hilarious and rightly called Geoff out on all his shit last time around. Completely disrespected the buttkissing, marketing and championing of advertisements.
You guys should be thanking this guy for paving a way for a new and better format.
LMAO.Googling for Geoff's height gave me this result:
"Height, 6'9" (4'3" without the hat)."
What? lol
I thought this was created to distance itself from the terrible Video Game awards on Spike tv years ago. But this is slowly crawling back to that same level of unnecessary pandering to outsiders.
Joel was the best, just making fun of it at every turn. It's exactly what the show needed.

He was so awful last time. Hopefully he won't nearly as cringe inducing
I still hold the belife if his cohost could play off him more it'd have been great
"We've got World Premiere videos every fifteen minutes, breaking news, exclusive demos, and many other phrases that basically mean 'Video Game Commercials.""Joel was funny, mocked how corporate the whole thing was, and liked Donkey Kong TF. He's good in my book.
Is Joel McHale a bad person or do people just not like him because they find him annoying? He always seemed pretty kind and genuine in interviews and stuff but I guess a lot of people do.
100%Joel destroying Geoff is still one of my fondest gaming media memories.
He eviscerated the self-important pretentiousness of the industry and I loved every moment of it.
"How many layers are you wearing?"
He comes across as a genuine sweetheart in interviews and such. I think the people who are shitting on him are just taking their hobby way too seriously. Is Joel McHale a bad person or do people just not like him because they find him annoying? I've already muted the game awards. It's so self-aggrandizing and Geoff is so insincerely self-promoting. Joel was basically saying "They're just video games. Let's have fun. You're pontificating like Caesar marching on Rome."
This was perfectly captured in that moment where McHale asked him what his favourite was, and he couldn't even do that. "They're all great!" Like, have an opinion. Be human, not a personified billboard tiptoeing around everything.
