I think the Jojo-DBZ connection really solidified when Dio and Jotaro started glowing gold and flying during their final battle.

I actually disagree with you pretty strongly here, that bad voice dude fight had a really unique style to it.
it was unique no doubt, but i didn't personally find it very interesting.
