Considering MHGU only had 3 days, that's pretty good!

Also - Hollow Knight is a beast. They've got to have hit 2m by now between PC and Switch, right?

Zelda has legs, man. I picked Octopath and Hollow Knight myself. Wanted to grab Dead Cells, but I'm waiting for a patch.

Happy to see Hollow Knight, Dead Cells, and Overcooked 2 rank so highly. I haven't played Overcooked 2 yet, but assuming it's as good/better than the first, which by all reviews I've read/impressions I've heard seems to be the case, glad that it's finding success.

I suspect 'selling' is the wrong word when it comes to free-to-play games (only Fortnite atm) in this list. I've always been under the impression the metric used is # of downloads which for most games means sales because you can't download without buying.

Didn't buy any switch games last month, but I hope I see The Messenger (which I did buy) for this month's charts.

The legs on Zelda just blow my mind.

Arcade Archives Super Mario Bros. continued success shows how hungry Switch owners are for older content. I'd have dropped a few hundred more on the eShop already if I had access to more classic games.

Damn, I still find it weird how often Super Mario Odyssey is missing from the Top 15 charts. It's honestly strange to see a Zelda game have stronger legs than a Mario game. I feel like I've stepped into the Twilight Zone

I am puzzled on why Zelda is selling better then Odyssey. Both are great games, mind you, and I figured Mario would always sell better.

BOTW will encourage people for years on game design, that's why it made such a mark compared to the still amazing SMO. It transcends normal greatness and is being rewarded for it.

I did like BOTW quite a bit, and it's probably one of my top 10 favorite games ever. The Switch has so many good games though that it's my 3rd or 4th on the system (around tied with Xenoblade 2, behind Odyssey and Splatoon 2).

I guess it just depends on which kind of game one prefers.

Odyssey just has such perfect movement and joyful worlds (except Mushroom Kingdom which was every average) that make it very satisfying for me to play.

In terms of what will be more influential though, it's definitely BOTW.

Hollow Knight must be killing it on Switch. It's constantly at the number 1 slot on the eshop.

It's not "several million units". BotW is at 10.8 million units, Odyssey is at 11.17 million. Odyssey sales have slowed down since December, BotW's have accelerated.

Di dI mix my numbers again? I thought it was 13.x millions. Must be Mario Kart DX

Anyway Mario will be a huge seller this holiday season, more so than Zelda anyway

Nope! Odyssey is 11.17 million, just double checked :P Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is at 10.5 million units. Breath of the Wild is at 9.3 million for Switch, 1.5 million for Wii U for a total of 10.8 million.
I do think Odyssey will make some gains over the Holiday; I just think BotW will minimize the lead for the rest of the year.
