ladies and gentlemen, every game with a glider is now breath of the wild
I don't really get hand-waving the trailer on the premise that it's unlikely a real, functional product will come from this. How often is a pitch or a proof of concept as compelling as this one?
Those things are nothing new in survival building games. There are dozens of games like that on Steam, some of them made it to consoles too like ARK and Conan.Re-watching the trailer and the game is crazy ambitious if I'm getting the right read off of certain things that we see portrayed. For example it looks like we have the ability to develop a settlement from a couple tiny little structures to several towering buildings including windmills but in another scene it looks like characters are gardening and transforming an entire area into something else. Then add in the fact that this is a multiplayer title and its kind of mind boggling. Obviously this could all be far far more limited than I'm imagining things but as its depicted they're trying to do several things most don't get right when focused on individually. It looks awesome though so I hope they pull it off.
Yeah, apparently. And you can climb them.Looks cool, but, for me, needs to be an Early Acess for some time and let the people play and explore the possibilities.
I saw Breath of the Wild and Harvest Moon, but I didn't saw Shadow of the Colossus. It's because of the giant enemy which seems to move slowly?
Calling what was on display BOTW art style a disservice to the artistic teams behind both games. Those things are nothing new in survival building games. There are dozens of games like that on Steam, some of them made it to consoles too like ARK and Conan.
What sets this game apart from the others are the wonderful settings and its inhabitants, as well as the BOTW artstyle. Most other games are set in very generic forest/medieval themes.
Yeah, apparently. And you can climb them.
This is what I came to ask.
Hard to say, its def possible for 6 people in a year to do an insane amount of work, definitely when it comes to the number of assets you actually need for something to look pretty impressive, plus animations being very very rough. I also doubt any of the systems teased there are actually working gameplay systems. The 6 'core' developers wording plus what is on display definitely tells me they have contract or part-time people they aren't including in the 6 number.
