Devin Nunes was on Fox the other night saying that the FBI investigating the Trump campaign in 2016 was the basically the biggest political scandal ever.

I imagine when the dust settles on Cohen in a week we'll get the next round of talking points - that the leak is worse than the crime.

I almost read this as "Devin Nunes breaks down. how we got here?"

It pains me every day that this organization is able to masquerade itself as a legitimate news station while peddling deliberately false conspiracy theories to its viewers.

I think he is getting this from yesterday's NY Times article on FBI's "Crossfire Hurricane" with details about the FBI's investigation into Trump campaign before the election. Rachel Maddow was talking about this on her show last night.

A black man that dears to excel usually is

Its not just that.

I think what gets under Trumps skin the most is that Obama was not only a better president than him, but he was more popular as well. I think he was under the impression the the media would get over the Russia thing relatively soon after the election and that he would be treated the same way Obama was. With respect. And the fact that he isn't is driving him insane.

Yeah, so why would the FBI put someone in Trump's campaign? Why? And if the FBI had a mole in his campaign then he was doing something wrong. I'm not sure what the point of Trump saying this is because it just incriminates him even further if he really believes that.

Correct me if I am wrong.

Trump is the POTUS right? So doesn't he have the ability to declassify anything or look at anything confidential that he wants to?

So if this is true, wouldn't he know 100% that an FBI informant was spying on his campaign???

Look at the tweet. He's quoting a rando on fox news.

But the hillary investigation was fine? It really amazes me the dissonance these people have.

Read the tweet. He's getting this from a former prosecutor spouting off on fox news.

So they were watching me commit crimes and that's not ok!

It's like admitting you're fucked but trying to deflect by saying the people whose job it is to catch people committing crimes shouldn't have been doing their job.

It doesn't even make any sense.

I mean yes, but, I think what ultimately pushed Trump over the edge was the idea that a Black man was "his boss". He couldn't stand that Obama had a higher position than he did or was his "better".

An interesting exercise when Donald Trump says anything is to consider - 'what would the reaction be if Obama had said/done this'.

For example, if Obama was involved in a scandalous affair with a porn star whilst his wife was pregnant, then proceeded to pay her off illegally using campaign funds, how would Republicans have reacted?

Man... I am numb to his stupidity at this point.

Does that mean he's won? Was he even trying to?

Fox News idiots are constantly, and I mean constantly, saying that whatever bullshit "scandal" they have dug up on Hillary/Obama/Democrats is "bigger than Watergate." This is where Trump got that from.

Like, that specific phrase. They use it all the time, for a bunch of different things. I've heard it applied separately to Benghazi, Hillary's emails, the uranium thing, Obama "wiretapping", etc.

I just think they are still bothered by the fact that the most famous political scandal of all time happened under a Republican president, so they're constantly trying to paint everything as worse than Watergate.

To be fair, if the Mueller investigation gets an even remotely reasonable resolution, Fox will be right for once, and THAT scandal will definitely be bigger than Watergate.

So we've gone from "the FBI investigation was sparked by the dossier" to "an FBI informant was placed inside the campaign to find dirt." Wonder what's next. And I wonder if Friday will be another big news dump.

Why would you need a spy to make fake news?

The only way complaints about spies would be valid is if the info they are leaking is true.

"Obama's spies keep leaking info about my affair. I didn't have an affair. But they keep leaking all the info about my affair! I didn't even have an affair , so how do they know about the affair I had? We need to find out who knows about my affair and punish these illegal leaks, because i didnt even have an affair, okay?"

The news is fake but the leaks are real.

It's quite possible that someone on the Trump campaign was whistle blowing things to the FBI. The quote Trump refers to suggests as much.

That's very very different to someone being embedded in his campaign to keep an eye on them. Trump has pulled that accusation out of his poop door.
