There's a lot to unpack here, but I just want to point out that the president doesn't understand fractions.

At least half the country (likely significantly more) think Trump is the huge piece of shit that he is. The media cow tows because they don't want to "lose access". Access journalism is bullshit. It doesn't matter if Trump barricades himself in the Oval Office, the next president will still be sworn in and can do his/her job from anywhere; it's not like Trump must pass the baton to the next President before they officially take over. Trump is a coward who doesn't have the guts to fire people himself; he would shit his pants in terror if the Secret Service are ordered by the next president to forcefully remove him from office.
Of course, the transition would be a mess, he would throw a fit on his eventual new TV network and his dipshit followers would maybe riot, but Trump literally cannot stay in power without some sort of coup by the Secret Service/Military where they refuse the orders of the new president.
If he wins a second term, I absolutely believe this will happen. He'll also try and install one of his children as his successor.

After 3 years it's been normalized. People have a capacity to just ignore atrocities and normalize anything, which is why you can never let these things take hold in the first place.

The Democratic leadership will say that time is a man-made concept and there's no way to quantify what "four years" actually is. There will be blood curdling cries for civility and suggestions to wait until 2024 to vote again.
Naw, the Democratic president will simply tell the Secret Service to escort Trump out of there if he's still on the premises at 12:01 on the 21th and Trump, being a guy who talks big from a distance on Twitter or to people lower than him in the hierarchy will not risk a confrontation that would end with him being tossed out like a common bum. As a non American i was surprised when trump got elected . But after further reading about the electoral college and seeing how many people especially in rural America support trump because of xenophobia & racism i get why he won .
