When your president doesn't lose his shit in interviews or on twitter, doesn't get caught in lies daily, and doesn't fill the administration with more corruption than ever before while at the same time lining your pockets with a few bucks from the tax break, he's probably the best president ever! Plus there is the benefit that Trump would never make you feel guilty for having racist thoughts.
Yes it's insane. Literal insanity. The level of mental gymnastics and cognitive dissonance required to support this man and the GOP more generally, is off the charts. I mean, it was patently obvious from the very beginning that the man should never even be in the same breath of "President of the United States", yet a huge number of people in this country are either mentally ill -or- extremely dimwitted/feeble-minded.
Before I deactivated my facebook, I saw one of my "friends", desperate to throw praise onto "His President!" post all about how he thought his "State of the Union" was an amazing speech. I guarantee the guy is a Fox News addict, but I'm sure he'll conveniently either A.) not see/hear this or B.) hand wave it with some ridiculous, nonsensical bullshit.
The whataboutism has also been so ridiculous, it's infuriating.
