During her interview Wednesday, Glandian acknowledged that Smollett talked and texted with the brothers in the hours before the attack. She said they discussed training and nutrition (the check to the brothers was as Trainers) as Smollett was waiting on a delayed flight to Chicago.

But she said Smollett had no idea who attacked him until the brothers were later identified by police.

No idea who is actually telling the truth here. One of the most confusing cases I've ever tried to understand.

I really wish Trump would’ve kept his mouth shut because now we’re going to get even more people who think politics are team sports trying to defend this sociopath.

White people aren't going to let this go until Jussie and everyone who protected him are completely and utterly destroyed.

I absolutely believe Jussie is guilty as hell and is a shameless sociopath, but the reaction to his bullshit is interesting. It's not that someone used their power and privilege to get off that pisses white folk off, it's that a black person was able to use the same tools to insulate himself from consequences. The system is working overtime to correct this lapse.

That deserves more energy and outcry. It's in the constitution that everybody has a right to a trial, not just innocent people. Selling CDs or cigarettes on the side of the road somehow merits the death penalty? And god forbid you try to squirm around to be able to breathe when ten cops lay on you. It's a shame that so few people care

Frankly, I dont wanna hear a fucking word from anyone upset about the Smollet case and "injustice". Even fucking OJ got his comeuppance regardless of his trial verdict.

This isn't just based on race. An explanation of what happened is good for everyone.

If the CPD fucked up, how did the fuck up? If the CPD rail-roaded an innocent black man, let's expose their ass and get the perpetrators out for the betterment of all future PoC's who do not have the resources and clout of Smollett to fight back.

If the CPD did their job right and the facts support the indictment, then what shady ass deals is the SA cutting for connected individuals? Let's expose the corruption in that office, because again, what if the next person lacks connections to the Obama administration like Smollett?

If he's innocent, I'd assume he'd love to prove that to get his career back on track and a fairly large settlement from the city of Chicago.

As a Chicago resident, I fail to see how demanding an explanation of a convulted and inexplicable case is a bad thing. This is an ugly stain on the city at the current moment.

Instead of generalizing “White America” why don’t you find some specific examples of hypocrisy from people in this thread?

Oh that’s right, because you won’t be able to. Zimmerman is a piece of trash who should be rotting in jail for the rest of his life and I bet virtually every person in this thread would agree with that. I was outraged as fuck when that shit happened and when Philando Castile happened and the list goes on. So was every other white person I interact with.

That has literally no bearing on my opinion on this Jussie Smollett case nor should it. Just like Donald Trump’s racist ass thinking Jussie should be held accountable doesn’t affect my opinion. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Straw men and whataboutism are running wild on this board. It makes it impossible to have any sort of good faith discussion.

Life can't just be about what Trump does or doesn't think. Yeah his motives are suspect, but wrong is wrong. We can't let shenanigans off the hook just because it's got the backing of a complete douche.

I think the police and/or the prosecution screwed up so badly in the investigation that even if it was an open and shut case, it would come out in the trial, and they would embarrassingly lose.

To summarize: I want George Zimmerman to spend his life in prison because he’s fairly obviously guilty in my mind and I want Jussie Smollett to pay Chicago for their investigation and admit guilt/apologize because he’s also fairly obviously guilty in my mind.

You are dismissing my opinion on Zimmerman and asking me to answer for a bunch of hypothetical people that share my skin color who you perceive to be celebrating the Zimmerman acquittal even though these people A) Might not exist B) Even if they do exist, the only common bond between us is our skin color and C) It is a completely unrelated case with completely separate punishments.

Do you really not see how messed up that is? I’m on your team on the Zimmerman case because it’s the right side to be on based on the evidence! You are on the opposite side as me on the Jussie case not because of anything related to the evidence in the case whatsoever!
