If you like automobiles, how can you vote for a Democrat who all want to get rid of cars, as quickly as possible, especially if they are powered by gasoline. Remember also, no more than one car per family. I, on the other hand, have new plants being built all over Michigan, Plus!

This needs its own thread, because wat

This tweet was attempt #2 and he didn't fix much from #1.

Is he deliberately misinterpreting a comment a Democrat made, or just purely pulling this out of this ass?

First I'm hearing of a one car per family plan.

Oops, he got us. Democrats are secretly working to outlaw cars, outlaw all firearms, outlaw cows and all meat products, outlaw standing for the national anthem or saying the pledge of allegiance, outlaw sodas of all sizes. How did he find out?

I like this, if you're gonna lie anyway, might as well go all wacky!

"Did you know liberals feed off the hearts of baby bunnies? I, on the other hand only feed off the hearts of kids in cages. Plus!"

Yeah, that would look great on a bumper sticker.

"Vote Democrat, we're going to get rid of cars."

What? When did democrats want to take away cars? I mean it would be great if we could get rid of gasoline cars and have WAY more public transportation but this is totally more insane bs that probably gets spread around to a bunch of Republicans to rile them up

This is why all of the handwringing about Trump calling Bernie a socialist or Biden "sleepy" hasn't done much for me.

Trump's an incoherent goon and he's going to sling lies and shit regardless of who the nominee is.

That first draft tweet is 100% a Trump original. I still sometimes can't believe that a person who writes so stupidly is president of the United States.

lol Trump is just real-life Captain Planet cartoon villain.

We definitely need to reduce auto usage, but it's very hard due to how our landscape was constructed and influenced by the automobile. Heck, even one the most mass transit-friendly US cities--NYC--hems and haws about stuff like the 14th street busway. It's pulling teeth in a place where 70 percent of the population owns no vehicle. Imagine the rest of America?

Trying to transition in the far future to all self driving cars will result in arguments very very similar to gun arguments.

But electric cars have torque like a mf, and that's fun as hell... Guess I'll still vote Democrat.

He scared.

It will be glorious watching his meltdowns over the coming weeks, as the stock market continues to decline

Trump constantly makes Democrats sound way cooler than they actually are.

Its the dusty ol' gun control strawman republicans like to pull out, but wearing a new hat.

Any reasonable change is always framed as the most extreme version of something they can think of. Its "death panels"...but ironically, thats literally what insurance companies do now and have always done.

This. He is feeding on the American love for the private owner car system and fear of change. It is great for the Americans because it was the way they always know and the very landscape of America was build around it.

Most countries are moving to different systems and basing on public transportation systems because the current model is not sustainable. Maybe the US solution would be a different one (like electric cars) but no one can deny changes are needed.

I'm not anti auto. But the bigger US cities do need more robust mass transit options. Outside of maybe Manhattan, cars are the primary transit solution and even with EVs, it will take time. And Americans aren't purchasing fuel-efficient vehicles. It's SUVs.

We love to talk about climate change, yet even Democrats aren't offering reasonable solutions to combat it systemically. It's a huge blind spot.

Lifelong michigander here:

Would like to remind people obama bailed out GM, a position much of the GOP (including Romney) opposed.
