Just 4 days ago he holds a press conference with Mitch saying the Republicans are united with him.
I know what won't happen, people won't get paid.So what exactly happens when he declares a "national emergency"?
Fortunately people with a brain know you can't play ball when the rules if the game have to have the other team win. Trump is negotiating from a well or nothing approach and trying to claim dems won't negotiate.seems like classical projection once again from GOP filth. The problem lies with his support base. They are all backing him up and it is insane. There are people posting how the 5.2+ Billion is nothing and a drop in the bucket considering our GDP and the Dems, yes the Dems, are refusing to play ball.
The only way he will lose is if there is a massive turnout again like in the 2018 mid-terms.
The problem is that McConnel won't even let it be put to a vote.He will veto it and I hope Congress overrides his god damn veto.
Congress has to approve his Emergancy powers lol.So what exactly happens when he declares a "national emergency"?
Convicts him of...what? Vetoing bills isn't against the law, it's a huge part of his job. Impeachment is when the president is officially charged with a crime, it's not a method for getting rid of someone for doing stupid, even harmful things, to the country. Unless those things are criminal acts.Vetoing this Bill should be immediate grounds for impeachment. I'm talking the senate convicts him on Monday afternoon immediate.
if it was only up to Schumer, it would have happened by now
No this is definitely going to sour horribly for Trump. I've been checking in right wing sources of the rabid kind and their articles about eminent domain are way more restrained than what they usually write even when comparing the way the same writer writes. The bottom line is that in every case they urge the President not to do this with as many words as possible that don't directly say it.I'd like to think so, but if they support Trump, they probably will let him have the land, and then pass over their teenage daughter to thank him.
Isn't this all because of right wing pundits shamed Trump right before he was going to sign the budget bill?
Graham
Just met with President@realDonaldTrump and his team. It's clear to both of us that Democrats don't want to make a deal and will never support border wall/barriers.
They hate President Trump more than they want to fix problems — even problems THEY acknowledged to be real and serious in the past!
Democrats will do everything in their power to stop Trump in 2020.
Mr. President,
Declare a national emergency NOW.
Build a wall NOW.

It's a Fox News presidency. Predominantly Hannity and a smattering of others. Trump is simply carrying their water... likely unaware that they're pushing his buttons to serve their own devices.Yep. The most direct evidence yet that Fox News controls the executive branch.

So either Trump is really aiming to declare a national emergency, or he doesn't want the government to reopen. I have no clue whats going on considering the GOP cannot even get him to work with them.
Shut me down if old.
Impeachment doesn't require a criminal offense. Not doing your job as president is more than enough reason to impeach.Convicts him of...what? Here's the thing: if there were enough people from both sides of congress who would agree to impeach him, those same people would be enough to override a veto.
The shitshow began with the revocation of the Fairness Doctrine.Yep. The most direct evidence yet that Fox News controls the executive branch.
His approval is terrible and getting worse the longer this continues. His base is not enough.
Posted this yesterday, was told this guy shouldn't be believed
LOL, no. you don't get it. His base, Republicans alone, is literally not enough. Not anymore. The Midterms already proved that. We've got many months before the elections for this to wash out of their minds, and plenty of Republicans will hold their nose and vote for him over the evil socialism-bringing, baby-killing Democrat.

They'll do anything Fox News tells them to do, don't lie to yourself.Texans are not going to let this New Yorker use Imminent Domain to take their property.
This is Texas we are talking about which historically was all about land
The longer it goes, the more Trump feels he has to have a "win" so yeah, I only see two potential outcomes:
A. Trump declares "national emergency" which will get shot down in courts but he can at least say he "did everything he could"
B. Republicans looking to keep their jobs post-Trump finally decide to just vote things through and override a veto
Not unless courts say emergency powers don't apply here, or the emergency powers being used aren't constitutional.

Its entirely up to Congress to define what can trigger an impeachment.
Not unless courts say emergency powers don't apply here, or the emergency powers being used aren't constitutional.
I'm uncertain about what the courts will do. I think it wouldn't be that much of a legal stretch for the courts to go either way on it, especially compared to a lot of other outragous stuff this court has done. But it could be a pretty big stretch in the outright effect and consequences if they let Trump do it, which might make the courts want to block him.
He will veto it and I hope Congress overrides his god damn veto.
He'll try his best to.Motherfuckers the veto exists for a reason.
McConnell and Co can't turtle out of this one. Do your fucking job.
I never knew how much of a shit Lindsay Graham was until McCain died. Hes the political equivalent of the main villains toadie in any kids cartoon.
