Fortunately people with a brain know you can't play ball when the rules if the game have to have the other team win. Trump is negotiating from a well or nothing approach and trying to claim dems won't negotiate.seems like classical projection once again from GOP filth.
The problem is that McConnel won't even let it be put to a vote.

Convicts him of...what? Vetoing bills isn't against the law, it's a huge part of his job. Impeachment is when the president is officially charged with a crime, it's not a method for getting rid of someone for doing stupid, even harmful things, to the country. Unless those things are criminal acts.
Here's the thing: if there were enough people from both sides of congress who would agree to impeach him, those same people would be enough to override a veto.

No this is definitely going to sour horribly for Trump. I've been checking in right wing sources of the rabid kind and their articles about eminent domain are way more restrained than what they usually write even when comparing the way the same writer writes. The bottom line is that in every case they urge the President not to do this with as many words as possible that don't directly say it.
Everyone of them is hoping the Dems blink somehow (throws hands up in the air) even though some of them know the Republican GOP has the power to end it all by themselves whether or not they have expressed a strong distaste for that GOP.

I like to think that the Dems know their seats are not safe come 2020 and do not want to piss off the people who just voted against Trump's policies this past November. If they fold you can bet your ass that names will be kept of who voted with the GOP and who is up for reelection.

The real compelling detail will be if Putin is influencing any of those heads to help further this chaos. And whether there's any correlation as there is with them and the NRA/WikiLeaks/etc.

Impeachment doesn't require a criminal offense. Not doing your job as president is more than enough reason to impeach.

Not unless courts say emergency powers don't apply here, or the emergency powers being used aren't constitutional.
I'm uncertain about what the courts will do. I think it wouldn't be that much of a legal stretch for the courts to go either way on it, especially compared to a lot of other outragous stuff this court has done. But it could be a pretty big stretch in the outright effect and consequences if they let Trump do it, which might make the courts want to block him.

I mean ultimately it's hilarious because even if somehow he does find a legal justification to use Emergency Powers, he still has to get Congress to approve it.
If I'm for some reason ever to introduce legislation, it would be that not only does Congress not get paid during any kind of shutdown, but their assets are frozen as well. Let them feel the terror of not knowing if you'll have gas for work or food next week
The problem is that people in the GOP have realized that their base is shattered and Trump is the only rallying point they have. They all believe if they override him, that their base will cannibalize itself. If they had a collective spine amongst themselves, they'd override him and do what's right, and I guarantee Trump would still come out losing this fight. They just don't want to sacrifice the oval office by shutting down his wall quest.
Didn't they just lift sanctions on some huge Russian bank the other day too? Mnuchin had some private briefing about it.
When this happens, I hope it starts a chain reaction of Republicans that just want this shitshow to be over.
