is trump trying to sever japan from american dependency?

because this is the direction that decisions like this is going to push japan in. falls in line with his earlier ludicrous suggestions like giving japan nukes.

So another reminder, this is what you get if you put a businessman in public office.

When 9/11 happened I always wondered why Japan didn't erect a giant robot arm that could reach across the globe and swat the planes out of the sky.

It's amazing how quickly the respect for America plummeted on the world stage.

At the same time, I'm amazed how quickly the respect for Canada has similarly been spiking. What a world we live in when Canucks have more global respect than Americans.
Ah, we've generally had more global respect than the US for at least the last 15 years. You must have forgotten about Iraq?

Honestly surprised this is trending more than his quote about "Every once in a while, they underestimated us, and it was not pleasant for them, was it?"

If this is the dumbest thing he does on this trip, I'll take that L and live with it. This goon could do so much damage on such a small trip, it's scary.

Oh, I'm personally expecting that he'll tease a declaration of war. "Should we nuke North Korea back to the stone age? Stay tuned!"

Reminder that Donald Trump was born about nine months or so after the bombing of Hiroshima.

I'm convinced he's punishment for mankind's folly of venturing into weapons of mass destruction.
