i feel like people are seeing this post on the front page and then assuming that the rest of the people conceding the tweet as a good dig are saying the same thing. i think this guy is on his own hill.

How does the one-drop-rule apply here? The one-drop-rule was the most extreme version of hypodescent and employed exclusively to distinguish between white and non-white, with any amount of African ancestry overriding any amount of European ancestry to classify a person as black instead of white. It's a very specific concept with very specific racist thinking: the idea of whiteness as purity, defined by the exclusion of whatever is "non-white".
Explain to us, how this worked out in his favor. How is his position any better now than it was a few months ago? Do you really think all trump has to do now, is say "hur dur Warren is a fake pocahontas. SAD", people will vote for him in droves?

Any other person than the President or any other government official posting this and it might get a chuckle out of me if I already understood the context behind it, but that is not the case. Now it's the president tweeting a political propaganda meme against Warren and that doesn't sit well when I see people being any sort of positive with that.

It undermines her judgement and credibility. Unfortunately for Warren she is in a position where she has to measure herself against a goblin like Trump, so anything that undermines her character is automatically a "win" for him.
