Nor can they go to Deutch Bank/Russia when they go bankrupt for a loan.
Trumpers are gonna think Dems are being irrational and vice versa, this is gonna set a great precedent for the next two years... Hopefully the direct impact this has on federal workers will turn some against him.
Trump was taught to walk away from deals in the hopes that the other side will capitulate to him. Unfortunately he's never had to deal with somebody who wasn't in negotiations purely for self profit or business motives. It's sad but also kinda hilarious to see him act this way with Kelly and other top officials out of the room. This shit is just gonna get worse and worse.
They'll override his veto power long before supporting impeachment.

55% of the public blames Trump and the GOP. Only the hardcore 33% blame Democrats.
Only 25% of the public supports shutting down the government over the wall, which means not even the whole MAGA base is onboard.
We're in the stronger position.
Then the AP comes along and says the store's at fault too for not paying up.

Ya there's no path to impeachment from here. They'll override his veto first and before it even gets THAT far Trump would sign the bill instead of looking even weaker.
Because the wall didn't even have enough support among republicans to pass at the time. They ALWAYS needed Democrats to pass wall funding and it was never going to happen.

This may be sort of off topic but I am sort of surprised how poorly edited the reports/live updates are from cnn. Scrolling through their updates there are constant typos, poorly worded sentences, and inaccuracies such as stating that Chuck Schumer is the Senate Majority Leader. I know they want to get this stuff out there but it looks like it is coming out completely unedited.
We wait. We'll see who caves first. I've got money on Dems caving first because eventually they'll realize they can't morally allow the government to be shutdown for years due to all of the expense and damage to the American people.
Trump and the republicans have no such concerns.
We were elected partly to oppose this wall. A majority of the public blames Trump and the Republicans.

Wait to see if Senate Republicans force McConnell to fold and bring a vote? The clock is ticking fast. The previous longest shutdown was 21 days and I think we're on day 19 now? State of the Union is coming up. SNAP funds will run out at the end of January so millions of people will be starving.
