The Dutch don't mince words. They'll tell you to your face exactly what they think.

I like how "professional academic" is somehow supposed to be an insult here.
It's a synonym for "elite". You know, those people who live in an ivory tower and don't know the problems Bob in rural Arkansas has to face. (Like the millionaires funded by billionaires hosting Fox News.)

If you ever get that uncontrollable urge to reach through your monitor and punch Carlson in his very punchable face, just go back in time to 2004 and watch the episode of Crossfire where Jon Stewart just completely destroys him to his face and you'll feel a lot better.

I'm confused. The interview starts with Tucker trying to be 'Let's be Buddies, your Davos speech was so cool'. But isn't Tucker against Taxation of the Rich? I mean there is this Interview https://m.youtube.com/results?search_query=tucker+carlson+tax

Why are this change of his opinion, i dont belief he's genuine.

But it's beautiful how angry he gets.

He liked his speech because he pointed out all these billionares flying private planes to hear people talk about how to deal with Climate Change.

he literally only heard "CHECKMATE LIBERALS" and was like "yea I'll put this guy on my show"

That video is seriously incredible.

Once he was presented with actual facts and legitimate questions Fucker Carlson couldn't even articulate a sentence and defaulted to name calling and insults. It was beautiful.

I am genuinely curious how many of the current Democratic Presidential Nominees agree with Bregman's stance on taxation and wealth. It feels obvious, yet I feel like we're so far away from any real change in this regard.

That's some of the best troll laced debating I've ever seen. This is how you talk to these people. Dont take them seriously and dont get into shouting matches with them. I couldnt help but smile as I heard Carlson trying to defend his indefensible positions while being laughed at.

Bernie Sanders is in favor of higher taxes on the 1% and hes also against current campaign financing law.

This democratic socialism that people are talking about is really just old liberalism. A lot of the current dem candidates are part of the multimillionaire class and have taken money from big pharma and the banks in the past. They have nothing to gain from a higher tax rate or reformed campaign finance laws. Why anyone would expect them to act against their own interests and fight for anyone who makes less than 80k a year is perplexing to me. Their social circle is wealthy people, many of them are people who have been rich longer than they haven't---its bizarre to be surprised when you find out they're sluggish when it comes to wealth redistribution when they stand to lose from it.

I like how Rutger didn't even bother to try and have the bad faith, disingenuous "discussion" that Carlson wanted and just went for the jugular with his comment on fox news. This is exactly how people being interviewed by these people should go about it, lay the cards on the table and stop pretending that fox news is even remotely interested in hearing a different side. Call them out straight away for being the frauds that they are.

America split the atom, went to the moon, won two world wars, and is now the greatest military and economic power on planet earth.

But, you know, taxing billionaires is just too hard to figure out.

Explaining it on air would have invited more folks to seek it out.

I'm not owned, I'm not owned, corn cob, etc.
I mean, he's not, really. You're probably not listening to Tucker Carlson unless you're in the Trump base, and the Trump base likes berating "dumb liberals" and violence against liberals, so I'd wager his show sees a modest increase in viewership over the next month or so.

Fucking clowned. Rarely is a bullshit artist so thoroughly wrecked on his own turf that he's left sputtering insults at the opposition. Glorious. That historian is a treasure.

The sound bite is the 'millionaire funded by billionaires'.

The real meat is when he started talking about the Kochs & the Cato institute.

Loved it.
as they say, follow the money. lol

guy got dismantled, piece by agonizing piece, until all that was left was a spiteful petulant core. ouch.

Rutgers is right, Carlson is a millionaire paid off by billionaires to not talk about or bring up tax equality. No wonder he went straight for ad hominem when presented with the reality

Surprised Carlson has eeked out this long a career after being owned into oblivion by Stewart so long ago. But I guess Tucker is stuck on Fox News talking to like-minded racists.

This isn't really surprising though. This is what they always resort to in the end because they have no real arguments when confronted by truthfacts.

But voices like Bregman's are needed when a lot of even the non-news media's views on the economy are viewed through the lens of the 1% and stockholders. To them, the economy is doing just fine. When that's not really true at all.

I absolutely HATE IT but the truth is Tucker Carlson is an extremely powerful person in the media. He is on the number one network in the country and he has the ability to speak directly to POTUS on a nightly basis through his show and has used that platform to directly affect policy and decisions in the WH. It's incredibly sad but absolutely true no matter how much we hate it and him.

Imagine how many interviews like this Carlson has done over the years that have never seen the light of day or been edited

Well, yeah. That's a function of the President being a moron. Fox and Friends, or whoever produces the show/decides what runs, legit run the country. There should probably be a news story looking into that because they legit set discourse in America at this point.

This video was cathartic to watch. I've desperately wanted to see someone call Tucker out for what he is. It's insane what these hyperphony Fox News personalities get away with, attacking "coastal elites" and "the mainstream media." Tucker Carlson lives in a mansion in Washington DC in the same neighborhood as all the other wealthy politicians, lobbyists and media people.

And he grew up very rich.
