I can't get excited for Sharp Objects. It just looks like yet another grimdark murder show

Humans Season 3 is back tonight- for those in the US. Already premiered in the UK I believe.

The Last OG has its season finale tonight- the show has been an unexpected watch for me. Nice mix of being funny, but also touching on some real issues w/a lot of heart.

Oh boy, that's only a taste of things to come. ;D By the way I wonder if you'll also hate
Rasmus
by the end of the season. Just an awful character. :)

Ok I think I got through the dreadful episode. That one with Beatrice and Rasmus

I also read up on the story and yeah.....
OF COURSE it's some dumb government/science experiment to investors.

No for me episode 5 was by far the worst
The one about the cult. Very unoriginal premise, plus they're super nice to encourage everyone to stay and then - BAM! - let's play a game who's gonna get eaten, and on top of that the important scientist decides to commit suicide before/instead sharing any useful info.

Oh god yes. That was so bad I blocked it from memory

The Last OG had its season finale on Tuesday, glad it's coming back for a 2nd season. Show turned out to be a pleasant surprise. It's not the funniest comedy on TV, but does a great job of mixing heart with humor and really has you rooting for Tray to succeed.

In his first series regular role in over two decades, Jim Carrey stars as Jeff, aka Mr. Pickles, an icon of children's television, a beacon of kindness and wisdom to America's impressionable young minds, who also anchors a multimillion-dollar branding empire. But when Jeff's family begins to implode, he finds no fairy tale or fable or puppet will guide him through the crisis, which advances faster than his means to cope. The result: a kind man in a cruel world faces a slow leak of sanity as hilarious as it is heartbreaking. Starring Jim Carrey, Catherine Keener and Judy Greer. Don't miss the series premiere of Kidding Sunday, September 9 at 10/9C.

I mean, has it been good? I was so over Scarlett and Gunnar's bullshit

And Maddie god just die

It's still messy. Scarlett and Gunnar are mostly kept apart thank god and Maddie is still w/e. Juliette's story tho idk wtf is going on there but it's the storyline that's in most need of fixing.

Tonight is the premiere of the second half of the final season of Nashville!

Oh right, that is happening this week as well. With The Fosters ending this week, I am running low on soapy family dramas soon.

I hope Nashville can end on a high note, they really have just been redoing the same old storylines for a while now. The only really new development was all the drama surrounding the depression of Daphne, and then they had her pick up a stray.

I tried 12 Monkeys and relatively enjoyed the first season but I can't seem to get through Season 2. Is it worth continuing or should I just back out now?

I just finished watching Season 1 of Netflix's Lost in Space.

I struggle to find anything positive to say about it.

Was there a single episode that didn't involve deus ex machina?

Incredible finale for Patrick Melrose. What a bravura work that series was. I would be gobsmacked if it didn't end up as my #1 of the year.

^^^Just finished it and couldn't agree more Ratsky. I don't even have the words to express how great it was.

Give Cumberbatch all the Emmys.

Sweetbitter - This was basically a nearly plotless New York / restaurant porn populated by mildly cliched characters. Still, I thought it was pretty solid. The ending didn't scream "I need another season!" but I would watch another one if they made it. I would be surprised if they didn't too, considering the upwards ratings trajectory the show experienced for most of the season.

Vida - This was a more conventional series and also a pretty solid one. It deals with interesting subject matter (it features a strong queer Latinx perspective both behind and in front of the cameras and also deals with a variety of other subjects including gentrification) and is definitely the more "Starz-y" of the two (tons of nudity). I would like to see it continue.

Succession ep 2 - This show is actually way more entertaining than I thought it was going to be.

Thanks for the updates, Ratsky. I was curious how the two Starz shows finished up this season.

Claws - Oh how I needed this back in my life. More batshit insane and hilarious than ever, plus male strippers! Franka Potente is an incredible addition to the cast.

Same.

I'm not sure I've ever been quite this affected by a piece of TV. Absolutely stunning work from top to bottom.

Patrick Melrose was indeed a remarkable piece of storytelling. Every aspect was so lovingly and confidently crafted. Somehow besting his portrayal of Richard III in The Hollow Crown, Cumberbatch was magnificent here. His performance (and the series as a whole) is among the best I've seen in years.

Recently watched Howards End. I loved the lead characters Helen and Margaret and the relationship between the two as they put in great performances and the chemistry between the two is amazing and really enjoyed that period of time. Trying to find another show like it.
I don't know why but I also watched Morocco as well and that's got some of the most dramatic romance storylines I kind of burst out laughing quite abit especially due to where the series is set.

Tonight is the season finale of Archer. Overall this season hasn't been that memorable to me, although German Cyril going wild off nose candy was funny last episode.

There was like one episode this season that was okay - the rest has been awful. The series can't end soon enough.
