This is huge, but questionable if propaganda wings of other countries will be continued to be allowed. Where will we draw the line?

Better late than ... Well, it's horribly late anyway and we'll have to live with the consequences for too long.

But this being said, your move now Facebook.

Took long enough. Better late than never, I suppose. Kinda crazy seeing people around me using RT and Sputnik as "reliable and unbiased" news sources.

If that was the case, they should ban ads on AJ+ as well for having the same level of bias and disruption as RT but for the left.

Make things even and get biased news out of the way of telling the truth.

If only this would have been done.. you know.. during the election. Sucks it's happening way after the fact.

Does this ban apply specifically to the US, or to Twitter as a whole? Because it would be pretty odd to ban RT ads in Russia.

This is a good step I guess? But the hope is that they not only correct after-the-fact but are proactive in stopping other orgs/vectors before it's a PR matter they're forced to handle.

Definitely. I know quite a few people that got worked over pretty bad by their propaganda.
The likes of twitter and facebook reallt need to do more with who they are selling advertising services too. The reach they have and with the information they have on people are powerful tools for bad in the wrong hands

Now they just need to get rid of the state-sponsored bots on Twitter....starting with Trump.

Need to ask Sam Seder why they're still working with Ring of Fire, who feature RT people on their shows regularly and visa versa

Anyone remember in London recently that Russia Today paid for ads on the tube? Something about the CIA and hacking.

Found it:

Way too late, but appreciated.

Social media companies have got to get their shit together.

Twitter banning those ads just as the House investigation into Russian meddling kicking into high gear!

Against Obama and Hillary.

Want to give props to twitter for taking this small step. Especially the donation part is pretty neat and fair. Hopefully that research yields some results off of which more decisions can be made.
