I tried to search on Steam for that Love Cubed game but noticed another upcoming title, Plastic Love... now to play the waiting game for the Kotaku article on that one.

From the article
The main appeal to many, however, seems to be the ability to customize the maids who work at the bar, and—if you download a patch from adult gaming platform Nutaku—have sex with them.
This isn't even true, Nutaku obviously sells the adult version, the patch is sold on the publisher website.
Even if the point of the article is shitting on steam because it sells porno (I personally see no problem in them but everyone is entitled to his own opinion on the matter) including factually wrong information gives me the impression the author really didn't care much.

It's been Nathan Grayson's MO for a while now and this is Kotaku's Steam coverage reporter.

That last paragraph is bad, but not surprising taking Grayson known hate for Valve and Steam.

Edit: Also dissapointing that the journalist decides to gloss over the other nice indie games that were on the list (only really mentioning 2 in 1 sentence), just focusing the only article of the top sellers on those 2 R18 games.

Blogger, not a journalist, there's a huge difference.

I dunno I just don't think "it is good that Steam allows adult content" and "holy shit most of these adult games on steam are awful" are points that are necessarily in contention with each other

I mean, he says:

Steam is a platform dominated by men

Which is just the biggest assumption ever (majority of users =/= domination), so I doubt he cares if he includes factually wrong info.

Why doesn't Kotaku call him out on his shit internally and pull Steam from his plate? I would like to think that Kotaku has issue with "reporting" that is equivalent of bad forums hot take with warped or missing facts to fit agenda by writer.

Huh? It's not a negative article. It's just stating that two porno games are top earners, which we have to admit, is unusual in those being so succesful on a plataform with AAA and indie titles. He even jokingly praises the games names.

It's just an informative piece. Not every article has to be about outrage, and the fact that the article does not praise steam does not mean it's negative about the store.

Edit: Also, please note that the list is about "revenue generated during the first two weeks after release." and not concurrent players.

Who cares if they have? As long as it's not CP or stuff like rape/torture or other bad stuff, let people wank over their keyboards in peace.
Dude, I'm not preventing anyone from wanking over their keyboards. Wank away. It was just a play at "what's the Era's member user name" that's seeing often lol
