Anyone else get an extreme case of the Heebie-jeebies from monobrows? I hate picking stuff up only to have those creepy crawlies scatter.

The game maxes out at 3, but your designs would have broken that scale were it not for errant rug placement.

Didn't realise we were talking about in-game scale.

I do have to say though, the hospitals don't start like that obviously. I do more or less plan it all out in my head as i have mostly memorised the room layouts and how much space they take, but initially i put a GP next to an Infirmary and as i progress and get more money i reevaluate and start moving things around.

It's both a tedious process and something that i find incredibly exciting at the same time.

It makes each level take hours and hours to complete though.

Just started. Never played Theme Hospital but I always loved the Tycoon games.

I'm not going for symmetrical designs, I like for things to feel lived in and personal.

Regarding room decoration, I try to strike a balance between them looking good and being functional.

For example, this is my current psychiatry (I haven't unlocked the rug yet, but it is next on my list):

qUwB7wQ.jpg

Small details:
- Minimum possible size, 3x3
- The patient leans back with their back against the wall, leaning towards the door.
- Doctor sits under friendly looking dog.
- Both sit next to the fire, so we don't use radiators.
- Each bookcase is different and provides a different bonus (+2% to Diagnosis /Treatment)
- Rorschach poster, of course.
- There's a clock, so we can end the session with the usual "Looks like we're out of time for today, but we've made great progress!"

It'll be nice if we could have an option to clone a room so that we don't need to re docorate. Especially so for people who want the rooms to all look the same.

Haven't played a game like this in years.

Would definitely pick this up if it comes to Switch next year ;)

Would this be playable on a Surface using just the Surface Pen? Seems like it was built for a solely touch interface.

One small complain with what is otherwise a fantastic game: You can train up your people and you can upgrade equipment, but the success rate of treatment will never reach 100% since 99% seems to be the cap. This means that in a functional medium/large hospital people will die frequently, and there is not much you can do if you want to complete a challenge/achievement... other than save-scumming (which works, and I did. No regrets!).

Is it better to stick with the first hospital and get it to three stars or move on and come back to it later?

How similar is this to Theme Hospital? It's obviously a spiritual successor, but does it expand on the original gameplay a lot? I loved Theme Hospital, but this looks like a minor update rather than a new game with a lot of new and exciting features.

Is there any reason to build a room bigger than it needs to be? Like GP Office and the like.

Im at the unihospital level and having a tough time training my workers. Does any one have any tips? Like using a doctor in the gp office without proper training seems to be a total waste of time but if I just shut the office down during training the lines get impossible.

Gotta say, I really hope we got more content for this game and maybe in the future, two point park. Bought the game for 30 euros and it was worth every penny.

I intentionally hired more staff than I would've otherwise. The idea of practically shutting down the hospital for like 40-50 days to train a handful of staff seemed not worth it to me.

Just a quick gameplay video by Ian from Easy Allies, in case no one has posted it yet.

I was watching it yesterday night and it really piqued my interest.
It looks pretty cool.

I've got 3 stars on every Hospital up to and including Flemington. Really enjoying it. I think I've cracked the code for the GP queue problem as well. Putting a row of them on one side of the building and a row of diagnostics rooms on the other side strikes a nice flow of patients back and forth

You can unlock some useful objects and earn more KP by attaining the higher stars, but it's not essential. You might find it's easier to return later on with all of the stuff you unlock in the later levels.

TPH makes a lot of very nice, smart refinements on Theme Hospital's gameplay, and everything is just fleshed out much more and deeper than it was in that game. There are too many differences to list so your best bet is to watch some gameplay videos.

Any hints to improve staff morale? I notice a lot of them are hungry/thirsty but there doesn't seem to be a way to help them out on that without sending them off on a break.

I'm finding i'm running into issues where a few patients are stuck on nothing unable to move and constantly whining about everything...

Check the staff tab on the overview page. This shows all of the stats that contribute to staff morale. I've found that the pay satisfaction/room prestige/hospital attractiveness plays a big part in being able to raise morale.

I've been up til 1 PM for 3 nights straight. This game is crack for a Theme Hospital diehard like myself.

Purchased The Messenger and Donut Country two days ago - still untouched. Hats off to the 2 Point crew for spiffing up an old favourite without losing the original's charm.

Yeah i played about 15 hours this weekend. Got the music in my head now.

Donut Country is a fun little game, only takes about 1hr30 to finish. I enjoyed it.

The name is Donut County.
Have a garbage day!

I'm back at the office and counting down the hours so I can go back home to play TPH again: I just unlocked a few new rooms including surgery and I'm dying to see how it looks.

I worked hard on my hospital. Got 2 stars and had like 700k+ money. Everything was fine. Started to expand and created two new wards, and one fracture ward. Then added few GP offices (always need more)... but then something went wrong. All my patients at first were stuck in GP queue hell then in diagnostic queue hell... My hospital value dropped from 2mil to 750k. It could be excessive marketing was too much.

I had a massive GP queue hell issue yesterday and started just sending any patient with a diagnosis at about 70% or higher straight for treatment rather than have them keep going back and forth from diagnostic rooms. Click on a GP office and select queue and then click on any patient with a green bar. Helped a bit.

Had it happen to me too, and I also pushed forward a few people into rushed treatment, like Joe Spangle did... But what absolutely fixed the issue was listing all patients and sending about a third of them back to their homes. Low health? Bye. Low happiness? Ciao. Little diagnosis progress after days of waiting? Hasta la vista!

I do that from time to time (actually did it in the original Theme Hospital as well haha) but the problem is that it's a bit tedious to change from patient to patient on the menu and individually send them home in this game, especially if there are a lot of them.

Which reminds me... In Theme Hospital you could actually press a button on a character or machine window (maybe left click on the live preview, not 100% sure) to cycle between the all of them, this was extremely useful to check the status on the machines and repair the ones that were in bad shape. Did they take out that option or did they simply change the method to do that here? I really miss that one, much quicker than flying over the hospital while checking all the machines one by one.

Also, I would advise people to really think through what they want to do with the new Marketing Campaigns. In my case, I had this brand spankin' new Fracture Ward with a lot of empty beds, so I made a pretty long and expensive campaign to get many people with fractures into the hospital, since I was in need of cash and that treatment is very lucrative, but I didn't take into account that the diagnosis for that is kind of intense... So I ended up with ridiculous lines on my GP's (much worse than before) and a crapton of ghosts from all the folks that died.

Almost bankrupted my hospital haha but after some intense budgeting (aka firing a ton of people and selling my very expensive research facility) I`ve managed to, somehow, survive the ordeal.

I think I found a super efficient way to cram 10 beds in a 5x6 Ward, with two screens, even:

Hopefully I'll work well, but it looks promising, right? Also, first 6 patients get lockers, the rest will have to hide their things under the bed I guess. Only the lockers are placed with Ctrl, to disable snap to grid.

I'm having the same problem with this hospital (Flemington). I think it's programmed to bankrupt you at some point or something. This is my 3rd attempt and I can't seem to ever get to 3 stars without ending up in the red no matter how much money I have.

3-star Flemington was tough. Dropped to about 40% reputation after a third of my patients died after getting stuck in GP queue hell. Weirdly enough that took the strain off things and I managed to pull it back. I find just staying the same size for a while and just building up a war chest is helpful in case things get dicey when you accidentally expand too fast. Specialising your staff also becomes a lot more important to ensure quick diagnosis.

You know how traffic jams exacerbate themselves? This is what happens with GP queues. Once the ball gets rolling you can't just fix it by adding two, three or four new GP offices, by then it is already too late: The average patient will stand in a long queue for ages, get sent to some test, return to another huge queue and probably end up giving up then, before receiving treatment. This is horrendous for us since we make most of our income from completing treatment, not diagnosis. Fix the queues first by kicking the least promising patients, and if you have enough GP offices it wont happen again.

Always make sure you pause the game at the start of a new Hospital to get everything built the way you want to without any pressure. Load up on about 5 GP offices and an equal amount of diagnosis rooms to keep the queue pressure off for as long as possible.

Yeah, makes complete sense. Read your post earlier and started to manually send patients to treatment/send home low health and happiness patients but doesn't this seem like a tedious mechanic? In an otherwise great game the idea that their isn't some system/room(s) that can chew through this automatically once its built. Didn't play much of the original Theme Hospital so don't have a proper base of knowledge from the old game.

I believe the original had a threshold setting for when to take a chance on treatment so you wouldn't have patients stuck in diagnosis queues forever. Haven't found anything like that in TPH so far; maybe in a future patch.

That sounds like a good compromise, automatically treat patients at XYZ%. Fingers crossed they add something like that.
