I think there's a known bug with the Fracture Ward specifically, hopefully they'll get it fixed. I've had massive queues for the plaster machine but nurses ignore it. The patient at the front gets mad but can't leave, leading to a massive backlog that you can only clear by editing the room which forcefully ejects everyone.

Can't you just move the machine alone to avoid ejecting everyone ?

I had a patient that couldn't enter a bed because of a locker, I moved the bed then he chose another free bed and everyone else in the room stayed.

You have to hold the mouse click to move a sigle item without editing the room.

Possibly, I'll have to try that next time.

Just 3-starred my fourth hospital (Tumble), and there's something so satisfying about finally breaking through the GP bottleneck and going from being constantly in debt to profitability. I imagine it might be easier to just 1-star the hospitals at first, then go back to them later when you have additional tools at your disposal. But for the time being I'm enjoying the challenge.

Good to see the dev team pushing contant patches, too. I think my number one request is the ability to copy and paste rooms and even just group item placement. After that, I'd like to see some small balance tweaks to lessen the GP bottlenecks without making the game too easy. They should also rebalance items so that I don't feel forced to spam my rooms with Gold Star Certificates.

I actively dislike this Sweaty Palms level:

Heat, plus earthquakes, plus flaming rocks. This is the first time I've had machines actually catch fire, even with a crazy number of talented janitors up.

Probably easier to Close and Open the room in the room menu.

I was looking through the audio files with the intent of transcribing them because they're so hilarious, but then I realized there are over 500 radio lines and over 350 tannoy announcements. Also, as an American I've learned what tannoy is.

My favorite line so far: "The world-renowned Cirque du Parfait is no longer under investigation! So, come experience the magic, wonder, and terror of our glass-boned acrobats. And face-eating clowns! It's a parfait day at the circus for everyone!"

Devs have confirmed room copy/pasting is coming in the next update. Personally, I haven't felt the need for it, as I like to tinker with each individal room but I'm sure this news will make alot of ppl happy as it is probably the most oft requested feature.
It's great to see the devs listening to the players and reacting such as they did when removinb Denuvo last update

Copy/pasting in the latest beta branch : https://steamcommunity.com/app/535930/discussions/0/1742220359686940247/

Here is a list of what is in this patch;
  • Copy and paste rooms
  • Fix corrupt saves due to light headedness patients in a certain state
  • Fix corrupt saves due to broken guest trainers that were already in a vehicle
  • Fix corrupt saves due to characters interacting with broken items
  • Make some parts of game friendlier to anti-virus (fixes some random hard crashes)
  • Fix graphical issues on OSX 10.10 (Yosemite)
  • Fix various instances of room building getting broken
  • Fix various instances of characters getting stuck
  • Improved queuing situation with various bug fixes and balance tweaks (We are still working on this!)
  • Cafe is a bit more sensible in terms of desirability compared to vending machines (if you have a cafe in an already built hospital you will need to edit it and rebuild for the change to take effect)
  • Fix queue positions in selection UI not updating
  • Fix staff getting tired, hungry etc before being placed in the hospital
  • Fix finance not working after loading last save after going bankrupt
  • Fix ghosts broken after loading save

Copy/paste seems to work well although it's been reported already if you copy a room with an upgraded machine, the pasted room has the upgraded machine as well at the cost of a level 1 machine, an exploit which is sure to be patched out pretty quickly before it exits beta.

Wow, Duckworth Upon Bilge is a huge difficulty spike.

A couple of tips. Firstly, at the beginning don't do anything unless the health minister tells you to do it. You can have a pretty terrible hospital but as long as you quickly and consistently meet his targets your reputation will still increase. Secondly, a challenge he can give you is to get a room to level 4. These pay out really well, so once you complete it, delete the object that just tips is over that point. That way you'll keep getting that same challenge and all you have to do is add a single object. Eventually you'll build up huge amounts of money and can afford to make a good hospital.

Another good sounding tip I've seen on the net is build a research room early and get them researching money

Any tips on how to effectively use Marketing campaigns? Does it just give you a temoporary boost of patients? I can't tell if it's worth using or not.

Got my first 3 star hospital done on the first hospital. Game feels like putting on your favourite slippers after a long day at work. A bargain at the £15 I paid.

It's the TH2 that I always wanted.

It works for me. Increasing prices and doing some marketing campaigns is a great way to increase your hospital value. You can also do a campaign for a specific room, for example if you have several rooms for premature mummification with a high cure rate, you can draw more people with this disease to your hospital.

I've finished this level with 3 stars last night. I've lost many fully upgraded machines because my janitors refused to put out the fire for some reason, even while the room was filled with fire extinguishers. So yeah, it was my least favorite level for now.

I read on reddit that to solve the "i need infinite gp's" problem, you need to allocate more space to corridors than you do to actual rooms. And i my opinion, thats not fun to design.

Hope they release a balance patch to change that. Also make it so that items give bigger edfectiveness bonusses but spread those bonuses to more items, so we dont need to fill all our rooms with gold medals and medicine cabinets for efficiency.

Is there a way to move rooms? Like, I want to put all the gp offices close to each other and not spread them around all over the hospital.

The major issue for me that was fixed is people getting stuck in Wards and Fracture Wards.

I am on the same boat. I love the game, but i stopped after the first 5 Hospitals. The Pathing AI was getting me frustrated.

I am still hoping they do some work on the GP side of things. It's too much to have to have 6+ of them.

I understand that you are supposed to train them and specialise them but it's not as easy as it seems, at least to me.

Still very much looking forward to playing the game, but i prefer waiting at this point so it doesn't sour my experience.

Be sure to spread your GP offices throughout the hospital, don't put them together in a single building. You can also use the "patients" screen to skip a GP visit if their diagnosis percentage is high enough.

Just 3 starred University Hospital. No issues with money really but fuck me if its annoying seeing people quite because they are hungry, thirsty and need a shit, only to have a ton of toilets, drinks machines and snack machines around.

Took the oppertuinity to get 5 researchers (two to lvl 5) and research a bunch of upgrades.

Managing GP queues isn't as bad with the copy room feature now, because I can plop new rooms down quickly... but it's still a pain x.x;

indeed.

I ended up sorting it out in one hospital by pausing the game and finding as many people as I could to put through to treatment or tell them to fuck off home lol.

I've spent about 70 hours with this game. I have three stars on every hospital up to Duckworth-Upon-Bilge, and one star on that one and a couple more after that.

I adore the basic gameplay loop. It is so easy to disappear into this game for hours without realizing it. Unfortunately, once you get into the last handful of hospitals, it develops a tendency to lean on its weakest aspects so much that I've dropped it in the hopes that things will get smoother with a few patches. The fire-centric level, for example, is a hair-pulling exercise in frustration that easily surpasses D-U-B, which is ultimately just a tedious grind. The way the game handles fire extinguishers is awful. Watching my janitor stand around in panic while a fire extinguisher sits on the floor mere feet away, only for him to swipe it moments before my level 3 machine explodes, and then pocket the extinguisher??? I could scream. The last time it happened I fired the dude on the spot for theft and negligence. It's a shame because there is a much more interesting challenge in this level pertaining to the major new disease introduced here, but it's drowned out by the constant quakes/fires/explosions and the aggravating, pathetic response from your staff.

And then there are the epidemics, which are terribly designed and implemented, and dealing with them only becomes more important as you progress. When they first popped up, I thought it was a joking wink to Theme Hospital that would either tick away in the background or vanish after a level or two. Eventually I realized....oh they are serious, this is supposed to be a fun and mandatory part of the game

I hope to return to it once some of these issues are fixed, but there is nothing fun about the last three levels I have played and I have no interest in continuing with the game in its current state. I'm dying for a sandbox mode. I would play it forever. I hope they take a look at the "My Pet Dungeon" dlc implemented in War for the Overworld (another love letter to a Bullfrog classic), which is one of the best sandbox modes I have ever seen for a builder/management game.

All that said, even if they never fix it, I do recommend the game, especially for fans of Bullfrog's stuff. I consider it money well spent; 70 hours of fun is plenty. Once everything clicks - how your GPs, diagnostics, traffic flow, cure rooms all can interact for maximum profit - it's a marvelous experience. But I do think it can be a much better one with a few changes and bug fixes.

I actually think the GP queue problem is somewhat overstated, the game just doesn't do a very good job of teaching you how to manage it. There is certainly room for improvement, but in general I think the game should do more to teach the player how to run an effective hospital before you get slammed with difficult challenges in D-U-B and every hospital that follows. I recommend spending the time to get three stars on each hospital, not only does it unlock several essential items and upgrades, but one star barely scratches the surface of each level's challenges.

I have to say I don't know how you guys played so much before the Copy room function was added.

I've only just started the surgeon teaching hospital and I'm already a bit tired of recreating the same rooms from the past 5 levels again just to reach the arbitrary level 3 prestige for each. Saving a layout would be nice for each type.

Just 3-starred Duckworth-upon-Bilge. I came close to bankruptcy at one point with -200k, but somehow managed to push through and regain solvency. One thing I only realized late in the level was that you can cancel requests. It's especially helpful for when you're in the red and can't spend any money on things like Marketing or Research, so it's a good way to get new targets that you can actually complete. That final push to get to 90% Staff Morale was really rough, though. I pretty much had to give everyone huge pay raises, and by then was spending 170k a month on wages, lol. Still, it felt genuinely rewarding to turn DuB into a smoothly operating hospital.

The new customization patch looks like a lot of fun. It'll be neat to give each hospital a unique feel. I've been really impressed by the post-release support, and I'll be in day one for whatever game they release next.

Just got an email today about the copy-paste room function and customization options for staff. That's neat! I like that they suggested you can use uniforms for specific types of personnel (psychiatrists vs. GPs, etc.)

I'm at 82 hours with 11/15 levels done, and still loving every second. They're continuing to fix bugs and add new features, so if you want to save some dosh then definitely wait until the Autumn sale since they may add more QoL fixes. Also, apparently there'll be a big announcement by the Two Point Hospital team at Twitchcon on October 26-28. There's some speculation that they may announce a console port, but I'm personally hoping for DLC and a sandbox mode.

Theme Hospital was pretty close to Theme Park in a lot of ways. Instead of building attractions, you were building diagnosis and treatment rooms. Said rooms had to be staffed with doctors and nurses, and you also needed janitors to keep things from breaking down. Patient management was a key part of the game. You had to satiate the hunger and thirst of patients, and also keep them from getting bored. If any of that reminds you of why you loved Theme Park, then you should be right at home with Two Point Hospital.

I'm just hoping that TPH has sold well enough for them to do a Two Point Park. The original Theme Hospital still holds up, but Theme Park's graphics and UI feel very dated. I'd love to see Theme Park fully re-imagined in the Two Point world.

If you are hurting for cash, sure, you can wait around for a sale to drop the price. But as someone who bought it at release, I can tell you it is 100% worth the money, plus the team has actually done a good job patching out the issue and introducing new features, with more stuff to come soon.

Having played Bullfrog's Theme Park and a TON of Theme Hospital, I feel that Hospital is the superior game. Either way, this one definitely satisfied the itch I had for a great management type of game. No regrets!

I wrapped this up over the weekend. I managed to get three stars on almost every hospital in 108 hours. I did not three-star the gimmicky hospitals - DUB, Sweaty Palms, Blighton, but ~100 hours is right about where I want to be for this kind of game and I don't have any interest in returning to those. That said, this is one of my favorite build/manage sims in a long time. It's cute, it's involving, it's addictive as hell. The game seems to wear a wry smirk aimed at US healthcare for the entirety and I loved that. It hits that sweet spot of satisfaction when you get the "flow" down, and the ever-present sense of a potential crisis as queues start to build outside various offices (especially, as we all know, GPs).

The last hospital in particular was an absolute blast. It was the first time I felt I really needed to leverage all of the resources at my disposal to get to three stars. It was an emotional rollercoaster; I almost gave up several times but every time I walked away, I couldn't stop obsessing over what might need to happen to stabilize my all-important profits (deep realizations such as "oh yeah, marketing"). And when I finally had the queues stamped out and was raking in $200K a month, what a feeling. I felt like a god. If you get stuck on DOB or Sweaty Palms, you MUST find a way through to the last couple of levels, because they're the best the game has to offer.

If there was a sandbox mode, I would still be playing. I will be keeping a close eye on any future development, as I would love to make a return trip down the road. It's one of those games I could see myself replaying for fun either way, but new stuff would be cool. Hats off to Two Point. The love that went into this game is bursting from the seams. I can't wait to see what they do next.

I'm about 4 levels away from the end, though I have been trying to 3-star every hospital. The gameplay loop can be repetitive near the end, but I do like that the game keeps throwing new challenges at you. In many ways, I can feel that most of the game is just a giant tutorial to get you ready for the final level, and I think it's brilliant in that way. Some games just throw everything at you at once and it can get overwhelming, but TPH has been great at getting you accustomed to new things. And as you said, that feeling of finally getting a solvent, successful hospital after breaking through queue issues is just amazing.

I have to say, the post launch support for 2PH has been top notch. Most (if not all) of the community requested stuff has been added by now and they do not appear to be slowing down. Personally, I would love to see mod/workshop support added in the future which would be just amazing

Haven't been able to play in a while, and haven't even touched the Bigfoot DLC yet, but Workshop support is pretty damn awesome. I'm totally gonna use wallpapers from Theme Hospital, lol. I think the only request I have left is blueprints, because as great as the Copy Room feature is, it's still a bit of a pain when you have to add a million Gold Certificates each time you start a new level.

It also looks like they're teasing new DLC: https://steamcommunity.com/app/535930/discussions/0/1743356969849610004/

Lastly, there's word in Two Point County that an eccentric millionaire has set his sights on immortality in an attempt to circumvent, well... mortality. Could this be the death of healthcare as we know it? Quite possibly, but I don't know, really (so don't ask). Stay tuned.

Hmm, I wonder what that's all about?
