If we are going to have a discussion about Jewish people, can everyone please refer to us as Jewish people and not Jews or jews? I know I am probably in the minority, but the casual way people refer to Jewish people always drove me nuts. We don't say Caths or Christs.

Don't we say Hindus, Muslims, Christians etc.? We don't say Hindu people. So what would be wrong with Jews? Or is that specifically prohibited for some reason? Kindly educate me if I am missing something here.
