It's not a secret if Ubisoft announced it themselves.
Anyway, this is probably not a Nintendo game, but them assisting a next gen game

I have a feeling it's not Mario Rabbids 2 which sucks because the first is an incredible video game

Seriously. Mario + Rabbids is the best surprise I've had in video gaming in at least a this millenia. Such a delight.
Whatever you guys are doing I hope you have fun and can pour the same amount of passion and heart into it.

I believe that a reannouncement/update during the year is quite likely, considering that it was always meant to be a next-gen game (I guess).
I'm certainly interested in hearing about whatever the studio has been working on. They knocked it out of the park with Mario Rabbids kingdom battle, after all.
I hope it's still being done alongside Nintendo. Mario + Rabbids was an absolutely incredible love letter to them from an outside company.
I think if we were going to get a M+R sequel we would know about it by now. I just feel like too much time has passed to capitalize on the excitement from the first one and the game isn't fresh in peoples minds anymore.

I'd pay for them to make a super Mario RPG. The aesthetic in kingdom battle reminds me of that game alot

That's probably true, but at the same time the game seems to have good legs. It shows up all the time in the top 30 charts on the eshop (in Europe at least, though it's also true that the game is often at a discounted price).

The second one was awesome but the arcade style progression sorta sucked.
Whatever they are working on I hope they are the lead developer and not relegated to being a support studio again.

Totally agree. I still remember that section on the funhouse or whatever it was where those ninja looking guys showed up. Lots of atmosphere there
