In other words, the project called Pioneer is still in development, and it may still even resemble the trailer that was snuck into Watch Dogs 2. But it no longer resembles the Pioneer that was originally planned. And we'll have to wait and see if it ever actually comes out.
3 years in development is significant
Is that the space game that was teased?
Nah, SC never really started production besides a few ideas.
Yeah in Watch Dogs 2. It then apparently got rebooted into something else, but maybe its been cancelled for real this time?
IIRC that became Rainbow Six: Quarantine
I did an interview for a position at Ubisoft Montreal back in 2018.
The only information I got was it was "an unannounced FPS".
I can't help but wonder if it's Skull & Bones. Game was announced as PvP -> everyone and their dog expressed displeasure it wasn't the AssCreed-free, single-player pirate game hinted at in the post-Black Flag player survey -> Ubi delayed the game indefinitely to add a single-player component -> radio silence.
Edit Seemingly not, per JS's post below.
Yeah just a canceled new IP by the Watch Dogs team - I heard it was Destiny-like. Lots of big changes at Ubisoft.
They already have The Division, why a second?Yeah just a canceled new IP by the Watch Dogs team - I heard it was Destiny-like. Lots of big changes at Ubisoft.
Probably didn't fit the "Loot"-mechanics template they use for all their games nowadays ...
Sounds like fallout from The Division and Breakpoint not meeting expectations. Thanks for sharing!Yeah just a canceled new IP by the Watch Dogs team - I heard it was Destiny-like. Lots of big changes at Ubisoft.
Interesting!

Well just 2 years ago they still made games without it. Nowadays it's even in Ghost Recon and FarCry.And it took 3 years to figure out what could've been seen at the planning stage?
Yes and more of a push toward variety all across the publisher. This seems like an extension of the delays and development pipeline changes brought on by the failure of Division 2 and Breakpoint right? Sad to hear a new IP is getting trashed, but at least everyone involved gets moved to other projects.

Sometimes projects gravitate in directions that don't work out, and sometimes when that happens, they get canceled. Not really fair to judge without knowing the actual story here.Destiny-like? After The Division? After they made Breakpoint more like Division? Why would they do that? :O
It's Called "Legion" .
Dang, I'm sad their game got canceled. Watch Dogs 2 is one of my favorite games. But Ubisoft really didn't need a third loot game.Yeah just a canceled new IP by the Watch Dogs team - I heard it was Destiny-like. Lots of big changes at Ubisoft.
