huh? there are ads everywhere for this game in public
If it were that easy, everyone would be making zombie games!I mean, it's no surprise that zombies are more mainstream than whatever Kojima's pushing.
I don't think they are, the Days Gone numbers are also retail only and that game launched a few months ago (so digital share should be around the same).
Hindsight sure is a thing, lol.compared to Days Gone which is more widely appealing with the zombie theme.
Anthem did sell a ridiculous amount.
Nonsense.
Most developers dream of having the marketing push DS received.
We are in November, numbers are higher than during the rest of the year.Definitely not bad for DS but I can't imagine people were expecting Days Gone to be the bigger of the two.
Also Mario & Sonic only at no.8 but that's apparently the best since the London games on Wii?
Great success for Kojima, Bend, Days Gone and Death Stranding!
Ironic to talk about word of mouth hurting it and losing to days gone.Pretty good result, I think WoM hurt DS abit though. If it was 90+, the game would have outsold DG comfortably.
I think its natural, it won't sell more than a high quality zombie game.I didn't expect this so sell less than Days Gone. I know it's only the UK though so the sales in other places might be better.
Given the wording of the article, it seems that DS is (slightly) above LM3 opening. Was anyone really expecting Death Stranding to sell less during it's first week than Luigi's Mansion 3 did in the UK?
Was anyone really expecting Death Stranding to sell less during it's first week than Luigi's Mansion 3 did in the UK?
i really don't think they care one bit.
Yup, said this earlier but I can't see Sony being happy with this. And these are the opening sales, let see what happens in the weeks to come, if it falls into oblivion the wow, I'm not sure.Holy shit @ Days Gone being the bigger launch by a considerable margin, and at a much slower time of year no less. I expected DS to be very much front loaded with the Kojima fans early adopting.
I'm sure Sony will be pretty damn happy having the two biggest new IP launches of the year either way.
Physical sales. You can imagine Anthem was digital heavy.I mean it's a heavily marketed EA AAA coop loot game, these games normally sell very well. What other big new IP launched this year? Stuff like Control and Outer Worlds doesn't seem that big.
Indeed.I wish we would get official numbers for Days Gone, it really seems like it did great. Considering how weird DS is I think that's good but we gotta wait for world wide perspective.
I just had the feeling that DS had wat more hype and marketing leading up to the launch than DG. Perhaps DS sold better in the US.I think its natural, it won't sell more than a high quality zombie game.
Ah yes that makes sense. It was also on EA access, right?
Again we dont have digital sales which is a huge chuck now for Sony. People do this every single time with it come to UK sales now.I just had the feeling that DS had wat more hype and marketing leading up to the launch than DG. Perhaps DS sold better in the US.
