One of UKIP's lead candidates for the European election said it is acceptable to rape "young boys" in one of his YouTube videos.

Police are investigating Carl Benjamin, better-known as YouTuber Sargon of Akkad, over the remarks.

In the video, from 2014, Benjamin said: "I can be quoted as saying you can fuck young boys. It’s actually not as controversial as you think.

"Depends on the child, doesn’t it? The ancient Greeks were pederasts. It was considered to be normal. It was mentoring."

Benjamin has previously said he "wouldn't even rape" Labour MP Jess Phillips and caused further outrage last week by stating he finds "racist jokes funny" after a video of him using racist language was uncovered. It has since been deleted.

A UKIP whistleblower passed a record of Benjamin's comments to his local police force in Wiltshire, The Mail on Sunday reports.

The document also includes screenshotted messages showing Benjamin asking for "something to really trigger" offence: "Do you have any underage porn or child porn? I will delete it fast so nobody gets in trouble."

Speaking to the Mail, Bejamin said: "It was an abstract conversation."

Main source is the Daily Mail unfortunately but I don't want to link that here, but essentially he made the same argument that Milo did in 2017. Sexual predators will always say their abuse is "mentoring" the abused.

Pretty much, anyone with a huge boner for ancient history AND is a far right asshole has skeletons in the closet. You could produce a venn diagram of people who are far right ancient history aficionados and people who wish they could do things that people before the birth of Christ could do.

Good to know he thinks "People being revolted and repulsed by CP" is "triggering" like he's just trolling people on fucking youtube comments or something. As if it's not you know, completely the normal human reaction to be disgusted by such a thing.

Or worse, that he thinks the worst kinds of illegal material is to be used as some kind of tool for "trolling".

I'm imagining some sort of horrible Rube Goldberg device which Sargon inserts child porn into, causing a long series of nonsensical silly mechanisms to activate which eventually lead to one of those drinking birds to hitting the button that sends an offensive tweet. That's the only way I can see this triggering thing happening and Sargon not possessing and distributing child porn in the process.
