I'll have to go back and watch the footage again but from what I recall, they said they haven't decided on how the crafting system is actually going to work, so it may well be that the meter never depleted because they still haven't figured out what to do with it.

Okay, so they haven't done anything with it yet.
So the thirst meter is either:
1) Stamina: depletes from movement.
2) Environment effect: Depletes from being in an area with adverse effects to prevent map progression from being broken.
3) MP: Magic powers/special skills.
4) Something else
Looking firward to this. The series has always fascinated me despite being bad at it. That said, I managed to best Shun yesterday!! Tried out the other two again and it's really a series that grows as you yourself grows, as I tried out way more risky moves than usual.
I hope the controls feel tight. The 3D models in Sayonara feel a bit sluggish, which puts me off. Fresh looks lovely, though.

Looking at the cover art, I couldn't help but notice the fishing pole is a flexible, bendy whip. If used in real life, how does that work? How would you fish with that tool?
Seems like they're developing it at a good rhythm. Hopefully the localization won't take too long either.

eShop, yes. I had forgotten that the physical release was Japan only, they need partners for physical releases overseas... Preferably anyone not called Nicalis.
Maybe D3P given their collab on that Touch Detective spinoff? Or whoever's doing the Psyvariar remake?
Why not Nicalis? I get that they were kind of hit and miss in the past, but their Switch support has been great.
Sounds like at the very least you have English available with the JP release.
I guess one reason would be to not jack up the digital price for parity with physical

Nicalis is like a worse version of Atlus if you live outside the US.
And if you still don't get what I mean, they suck at releasing physical games outside the US because it's extremely late or nonexistent.

Nah, I'm certain it's just to do with the NPCs in the game that are animals which reminds me of the Monster World games NPCs (aka the Wonder Boy games starting from Monster Land.)

New year's card reveals Umihara Kawase Fresh! is releasing between Spring/Summer 2019
I don't think she fishes with a pole, just an elastic line.
It's definitely more just a super flexible tether/bungie with a fish hook than a rod or pole. It's always been that way since way back on the SNES. I doubt it's supposed to work in real life. :P

Edit: For now, I guess this should be treated as the Japan only release date. The game is planned to have Japanese, English and Chinese language support but it is not certain whether all that is happening the same day on launch.
