Dota Underlords is a new stand-alone game that pits you against seven opponents in a battle of wits that will have you building, combining, and leveling-up a crew in a battle of dominance for the city of White Spire. In this game, victory is determined not by twitch reflexes, but by superior tactics.
It's basically match 3 with RNG and card/mahjong/chess/tactics game elements.
- You can select from 5 Heroes every round
- You can pay 2 gold to re-roll your 5 choices
- Prices vary from 1-5 gold
- The higher your Level the more available 4-5 gold Heroes are available and less 1-2 gold Heroes and vice-versa
- Available Heroes and Alliances depend on what your opponents pick
- There is a limited amount of Heroes in the Hero Pool and if your opponents pick a certain Hero/Alliance there will be less chance that Hero/Alliance will be available for you
- Each round you gain 1 Experience (XP)
- The Experience requirements changes for each Level up
- (Level)1-(XP)0, 2-1, 3-2, 4-4, 5-8, 6-16, 7-24, 8-32, 9-40, 10-50
- You can also pay 5 gold to gain 5 Experience
- Match 3 of the same Hero to make it a ⭐ ⭐ Hero with upgraded stats/spells.
- Match 9 of the same Hero to make ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ Heroes
- Match 2x (usually 3x) or more of the same Alliance and your team will have a positive buff or give the enemy team a negative debuff
- Neutral Creep Items can synergize or modify your Alliances
- Gold can be spent early to get more Heroes/make more Alliances or save for late game to get more powerful/expensive Heroes
- You start with 1 gold on Round 1
- Rounds 2-4 nets corresponding gold
- You gain 5 gold every round after, but can gain 10% interest if you have a factor of 10 or more, so if you have 10-19 gold you will gain 1 gold interest, to a maximum of 5 gold interest for 50 gold and above
- You can also gain extra Gold from Items and Win/Lose streaks
- The first 3 rounds are Loot Rounds spent fighting Neutral Creeps and earning Items that will help your heroes
- Then rounds 4-9 you face a randomly chosen player and fight their Hero setup
- If your team loses you lose HP depending on badly they beat you
- HP starts at 100
- If your team loses you lose HP depending on badly they beat you
- The Neutral Creep or Loot Rounds recommence at 10, 15, 20. . . etc
- Random player fights continue between Neutral Creep rounds
- Then rounds 4-9 you face a randomly chosen player and fight their Hero setup
