This should have been handled much better, zero doubt. Did they not have an in depth conversation about this type of thing? We did and I got my degree from fuck all. Just snag the degree and shake someones hand.
Geez really? I answered your question honestly and this is what I get.
You also ignored half of my post so this is clearly a pointless exchange.Geez really? I answered your question honestly and this is what I get.
Fuchs given."Fuchs assured parents and students that the hands-on removal process has been banned from all future ceremonies."
At least Fuchs gave a fuck and did something about it.
Again, my response was to someone who asked what the difference was if someone took the 5 seconds to wave or dance. I provided anecdotal evidence, reasons why it can be an issue, the impact it can have, along with the reason why Universities discourage such actions. What else would you expect an answer to a post questioning time to be about other than time?your post is pathetic. You are so selfish, all your post is about how much time it takes. Who gives a flying shit? This day is for these kids. If these people can't stand waiting for other people to do their celebration, get the fuck out. It's as simple as that.
I graduated from UT in one of those enormous kinds of classes. My college was smart and planned accordingly. This isn't hard. The only people upset, are the kind who should just not show up at all.
Perhaps your time would be better spent responding to those who call the graduates actions "uncalled for and over the top" instead of getting upset when you engage an aspect of a conversation you don't want to discuss with someone who has made it clear in each of their posts that the graduates did nothing wrong or deserving of the treatment they received and who has stated numerous times that the individual was out of line for responding and treating the graduates in that matter.Iron Knee. The guy who called a tiny dance "uncalled for and over the top" wants to talk feigned outrage.
I disagree. What this country needs is more "mooning" at women's colleges like that scene from the movie Private School with Phoebe Cates. Youtube it.Devil's advocate, but students should be respectful of the ceremony and of everyone else's time. This isn't a party. Showing a little joy is okay but keep moving. I don't buy that's it part of "their culture" but I'm not familiar with it if it's genuinely historically respected, my thought is it's just a goofy celebratory thing to do that pushes the button of authority; we did this shit in highschool all the time. This guy is clearly thorny and was probably done after the second person to do it, and just wasn't going to have it.
That video is hilarious by the way.
I think a lot of the audience probably cares if it takes 5 hours. Some family members may have a limited amount of time and have other things they plan to do with their loved ones after the ceremony. State school graduations can take a while under the best of circumstances, so personally I'd be pretty annoyed depending on the number of people who decide to stroll. If it's not that many, fine. If it's a lot? Yeah, I dunno...Who cares if the shit takes five hours.
These kids owe you a fucking house's worth of money and you can't even give them the basic courtesy of celebrating without literally shoving them out.
This dude and the people who approved/encouraged roughhousing graduates need to seriously reevaluate what they're doing.
The manhandler doesn't give a shit. He was grabbing them the second their foot touched the staged.Okay, but what the fuck does this have to do with me being an introvert who personally wouldn't celebrate like this and would just take the diploma and leave? Do I have to give up the Black Card now (I guess black people can't be introverts now, apparently)? Did you actually read the post you quoted in the slightest?
Kind of unrelated, but they probably don't owe that much at all. Florida is ranked as one of the best in the nation in secondary education for a reason,Who cares if the shit takes five hours.

Weird thing to say - “sorry this isn’t racism”.https://twitter.com/TomlinMedia/status/993550385359998978
"Greg Tomlin @TomlinMedia
Here is a collage I made, showing the staff member at UF dealing with students of all races who are showboating on stage. The more elaborate the celebration, the more firmly he deals with the students. This is not a case of racism, folks. Sorry.
"
I have no idea on the feed. I merely watched the video which shows the same behavior towards plenty of others.Weird thing to say - “sorry this isn’t racism”.
Going through that person’s Twitter feed it’s pretty clear they only made that video because it would fit their agenda.
I've never heard of him but I also mostly listen to sports radio/ music and some news on the way to work. I saw his tweet embedded in another article. I wanted to post just the video but the embedding from twitter didn't work.according to that guy's twitter profile, he's a producer on the Michael Medved show. so yeah.
But - he didn't take all that video himself. He just took snippets that other people tweeted out, some of which were in the orginal tweet thread/stream/whatever you call those things.
None of which changes what the video he made illustrates. But we knew that yesterday when multiple videos surfaced showing this usher harshly treating students regardless of color. The only thing they had in common was apparently they didn't adhere to whatever rules were given them prior to the ceremony.Weird thing to say - “sorry this isn’t racism”.

Michael Medved is a conservative radio talk show host. I've never listened to his show so I don't know if he veers into Hannity/Rush territory, but it explains the comment about political agenda/biasI've never heard of him but I also mostly listen to sports radio/ music and some news on the way to work. I hope not that bad. Those two are absurd freaks and reasons why I typically don't listen to political talk shows. There used to be some guy name Savage on the radio a few years back as well. I thought he was spoofing but apparently he is a real hardcore loud conservative. His blood pressure must be through the ceiling the way he talks. Blows my mind that they get air time.Michael Medved is a conservative radio talk show host. Savage, that would be Michael Savage. He's actually the absolute worst out of all these guys, by a longshot.I hope not that bad. Concert security doesn't throw band members off stage for dancing to their own music.
When I was in college he was always on during my commute times in the car. Sometimes I'd listen for entertainment purposes alone (same with O'Reilly back in the day, complete d-bag). Dude yells like a maniac, which made me bust up laughing in the car by myself a few times.Savage, that would be Michael Savage. He's actually the absolute worst out of all these guys, by a longshot.
At my high school they told us if we threw our caps up into the air, they'd fine our parents. They went so far as to write our full names and addresses inside the cap so they'd know whose it was when it was thrown. So all we did was swap our caps with those of the nerds and threw theirs. They should have just hired a bouncer like UF did.You can sure tell which folks have never graduated from anything in this thread.
They were celebrating. Chill out.I'm black, but I wouldn't make a fool of myself on the graduation stage by being obnoxious. We have an African American culture, but that doesn't mean we can act like fools and not be called out on it.
