I'm curious what my rate will be upon renewal. They usually ask you how much you've driven the past year, and one of my cars we've driven practically nothing (still need insurance though).

I've been looking into Metromile, which is pay-per-mile, and I'm liking what I see. Especially given how much I haven't been driving around since quarantine started. Haven't pulled the trigger yet, though.

Edit: Forgot to include my current insurance. Have AAA, and the wife and I pay about $135 a month in the SoCal area for a 2014 Jetta and 2020 Tiguan.

I paid about $1100 for a year of NJM insurance. It's for a newish Civic in a moderately expensive state. No accidents on record.

They've refunded some of the premium due to the pandemic.

Wife and I pay $300/month.

We have a Tesla and an I3 and live in Los Angeles so it's expensive and stuff.

Progressive - $634 for 6 months with 100/300 coverage with nonstacked UM coverage, roadside assistance, and medical payments of 1k. Not having to drive as much due to working from home definitely helped lower my costs when I looked for a new quote.

Six month 1k with Geico for a 2020 Corolla. I had Geico since I started driving and I honestly don't care about shopping around.

I have Esurance. I pay every 6 months for the discount but comes out to $98/month for full coverage on our two vehicles after all discounts. I also have the DriveSense app on our phones, it's showing we saved 12% using that.

I always shop every 2 years. Before this Liberty Mutual was the cheapest but their rates just kept going up for no reason. Esurance ended up being cheaper last time a shopped.. The reason I always recommend checking is because when I originally signed up for Liberty, Esurance was more expensive so they do vary

GEICO just gave me their renewal prices for the next six months. Went from $110/month to $80/month for full coverage on a 2016 Chevy Spark.

About a $160 a month with State Farm. Other factors that matter:
  • I'm a male and over 25
  • Have a 2014 Mazda 3
  • Pretty decent driving history, no speeding tickets/moving violations
  • Live in San Jose California
  • Car is kept in a garage (not sure how much this matters)
My insurance is full coverage that includes rental, uninsured motorists, etc. It's a bit high though since I backed into a parked car in a parking lot in October of 2018 but that should hopefully go off my record soon. Before it was closer to $100/month.

Progressive for $244 a month for 2 cars (2016 Sorrento and 2016 Forte) w/ 1 at-fault accident by my wife. We live in Orange County (SoCal).

We had Allstate before and was paying about $260 a month. After the accident (which was a small fender bender), they raised our rate to $398 a month (Yes, our insurance went up 50%). At that point we just ditched them after they said they couldn't do anything about it.

We shopped around and got a few quotes. Ended up with Progressive as our deductible ended up being even lower than what we had with AllState.

$130 a month Travelers Insurance.

Ford Explorer
&
Ford Mustang

Full coverage on both (free glass, etc)

In South Carolina.

Crazy.

Because of New York?? Or had a few wrecks?

Because of NYC. I even have safe driver discount and my credit is great. 0 accidents. 0 tickets. Cars are a 2015 MDX and a 2020 Sti. They both have full coverage + glass. Ive had my license since I was 17. I do have my wife on my insurance but that didn't really change the price when I was doing a quote.

Well, I bet one of the cars being an STI adds a bit to that price.

I lease a Mini Cooper and BMW requires me to get super high level insurance so sadly it's about $165 a month from Allstate. I've looked into alternatives and do get some messages from Liberty Mutual about lowering my rates for some sort of Mini-sponsored insurance but I've just dealt with it for years since I've had Allstate forever.

37 with no accident or ticket history, etc. I do get a 5% or something check back every handful of months which is like $40.

Austin, TX. My agent claims insurance is higher in Texas due to the number of people and therefore more accidents.
