What got me is the lady that cited that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel? Like really, out of all the things that are going on in this country, this is your priority? Disgusting people.

It gets us one step closer to the second coming and the beast slouching toward Bethlehem.

Much like Trump slouches in his bed, eating cheeseburger and hoping that that dreamboat Jake Tapper will give him a hint of praise.

When the only ray of light in your life is the fantasy that Jerusalem is destroyed and every Jew and non-Talibangical is swept up in an Apocalypse, before you're escorted to Heaven, then this is the type of drooling fucking moron you get.

I think.... outliers, contractions, etc whatever are stupid to obsess over because natural movement will happen over a 10 month period, and while some of it will be due to external developments, a lot of it is just movement. Like D+10 was great last month but it wasn't predictive of what will happen in November and neither are polls this month too. We're about to enter a shutdown, Republicans will suffer. Then Trump has his SOTU in a couple of weeks, they'll probably recover.

Movement.

I love that they pushed this back so many times that it's now threatening a shutdown right before Trump's one year anniversary.

Maybe if people didn't want a shutdown, they would't have elected the bad actors that caused the last one. People voted for Trump to blow things up. Polling to determine who is to blame is useless here.

Back lash against Democrats will be high amongst racist and racist sympathizers, but people will forget it after the next major fuck up.

Been at work all day without access to any news. Where are we at? Headed for a shutdown bc Trump can't get his stupid wall?
I think so. My company sent out an email about how we will continue services as normal for Monday and take it day by day but we aren't allowed to purchase anything. We are preparing for the possibility of a shut down but who knows? Things could change before time runs out.

Headed for a shutdown because Republicans refuse to choose the option that has bipartisan support and will easily clear both the House and Senate

Thanks. Last I heard was GOP is trying to tie CHIP to funding the government so they can disingenuously claim Dems want kids to die. It's pathetic bc anyone with a brain would realize you put CHIP on the floor anytime at all and it passes. GOP playing politics with the health of children is disgusting.

Anything else come up in the meanwhile?

I'm pretty sure there wont be a shutdown. I think the cause for the shutdown is just but I just don't see it happening. republicans wont give in and suddenly pass DACA because of it, quite the contrary in fact. This is a lose lose situation.

We're about 5.5 hours away and no sign of slowing down. I'm guessing a shutdown that will be very short and a CR for 2-4 weeks.

Heitkamp's a yes as well:

Doesn't Turtle have at least 50 votes to show Democrats are "obstructing"?
+Heitkamp, Donnelly, Manchin, Peters

-Graham, Flake, Paul, Lee

I guess that'd shake out to 50-49 in favor, but if it fails, it fails. I don't know that the media will focus too heavily on "well it got a majority, it just couldn't break a filibuster" because they never have. "Gun control bill fails 56-44" etc

I think the question is fine. The gamble is clearly "we are willing to risk a shutdown because we want DACA".

Which I think is fine given polling for support on DACA. I imagine most people would think "Just give the dems the damn DACA it's not a big deal if that keeps to government open." It's only a problem for hardliners and the base. Support for DACA is surprisingly high for something that is so partisan in Congress.

I hope dems absolutely REFUSE to vote for any sort of CR. It's time to throw Trump's presidency in the fire.

It's time for Dems to stand-up and show the backbone and fire that we all know the GOP would if the roles were reversed here. No DACA no votes PERIOD. It should be as simple as that. It's what the base wants it's what the majority of the country wants according to polling. Please Dems don't shrink. Make the base proud. Show us you are with us in the resistance. Ride the huge blue wave coming.

Guys, I heard a rumor that at his physical exam the doctor had to palpate Trumps saggy man-titties to check for lumps. The president might have breast cancer but we can't be sure unless we see the test results.

#ReleaseTheMamos

Yes this is bullshit just for a bad punchline. But I'm sure Nune's memo is bullshit and it won't have a punchline.

Same thing as stricter gun control laws. Republicans always go against what the majority want and they still come out on top.

I think only Flake and Graham will be the Republicans who vote no for the House CR.

But anyways, I think the shut down happens. Don't know what happens after.

My bet is we get 4-day CR or we get a long-ass shutdown. But i don't think the Senate will pass a 4-day CR without confidence that it could pass the house. And i think we'd be hearing more noise about the 4-day CR if it was really gaining ground.

So I don't disagree with your conclusion, but that just suggests that gun control and immigration are not potent campaign issues.

I remember Kaine mentioning (in the debate? in one of his first interviews as VP nominee?) he felt he could broker a deal specifically on gun control and immigration. While those are obviously important things to get done, I don't think the average swing voter was thinking too much about either of those issues. I'm not fully on board with the "Democrats are losing rural white working class because they only talk about bathrooms!" narrative, but it's certainly one that exists, and Democrats going forward need to be more aware of that and try to counter it. In my experience, to a lot of people many of Hillary's big campaign promises felt like microwaved Obama deals that never went through, and she should have defined her campaign with bolder ideas (once again, not entirely on us because the media likes to focus on stupid shit, but I don't think they did much to fight this perception)

It's like gun control. Background checks poll pretty well among the general public, but only a fraction of supporters feel real strongly about the issue, and those who are opposed are rabid about it.

Peters is a no, according to the Detroit Free Press.

I remember, that's my point. So it's possible the people reward the Democrats for this. I'm just saying they don't forget about it.

I don't think this is going to stop the Blue Wave. But if Democrats don't energize their base, they could weaken the blue wave. And the Democratic base WANTS DACA and CHIP. And seeing the Republicans doing their Green Goblin impression should enrage the Dem base.

Last I heard Flake was "still looking at it" this afternoon, which means he'll probably vote for it.

Graham might not, if it won't pass anyway, but precedent says he will.
