New York Attorney Gen.-elect Letitia James says she plans to launch sweeping investigations into President Trump, his family and "anyone" in his circle who may have violated the law. https://nbcnews.to/2EpIvpz

James outlined some of the probes she intends to pursue with regard to the president, his businesses and his family members. They include:
- Any illegalities involving Trump's real estate holdings in New York, highlighting the October New York Times investigation into the president's finances.
- The June 2016 Trump Tower meeting with a Russian official.
- Examine government subsidies Trump received, which were also the subject of Times investigative work.
- Whether he is in violation of the emoluments clause in the U.S. Constitution through his New York businesses.
- Continue to probe the Trump Foundation.

At Politico's "Women Rule" event on Tuesday, reporter Eliana Johnson asked Sanders if the president's sometimes demeaning language towards women was ok.
"As a professional woman, do you think that's appropriate?" Johnson asked, referring to times that Trump had called individual female reporters "stupid" or a "total loser."
In response, Sanders said that Trump "has had an equal number of contentious conversations with your male colleagues."
"Women wanted to be treated equally, and we have a president that certainly does that," Sanders said.
"He is not going to hold back, and the people of this country elected him in large part because he is a fighter."
"It's tremendously big and tremendously wall," he said, emphatically adding, "Tremendous amounts of wall."

House GOP inserted a provision in an unrelated rule to gut resolution withdrawing US support for Saudi-led war in Yemen and give Republican leaders more power to block measure - essentially giving cover to the WH that is trying to block the plan https://www.cnn.com/2018/12/12/politics/republicans-resolution-us-yemen/index.html …

this is something i've wondered about.NPR: *brings on a Trump-supporting conservative talk show host and owner of website American Greatest to discuss the Trump-Cohen implications*
Talk show host: *spews bullshit about no collusion, Cohen is a hack lawyer, no crime in paying off porn stars, Flynn is innocent, etc*
NPR:
this is something i've wondered about.
why are the media outlets giving airtime to these people that lie?
its not a "both sides" thing. these people are not saying anything real and are trying to say feelins = facts. it would be the same thing as giving "flat earthers" a voice in anytime nasa is being interviewed .
its dangerous.
That's... a lot. Way more than Cohen so far and he has serious dirt on three different investigations.
They're actually given constant privilege and protection by these tech companies, more than they should, but they simply have to be victims, in their mind.
I really hope the judge throws Flynn in the slammer. You don't get to treason and then community service your way out because you had some info on some Russians.

WaPo: Brett Kavanaugh's accuser presents SI's 'Inspiration of the Year' award to a Larry Nassar victim
Rachael Denhollander, who sent a message that was heard by hundreds of other women when she refused to remain silent about the sexual abuse of former USA Gymnastics and Michigan State doctor Larry Nassar, was presented with Sports Illustrated's "Inspiration of the Year" award, introduced by a controversial woman who chose to speak up about abuse she allegedly suffered."In stepping forward, you took a huge risk and you galvanized future generations to come forward even when the odds are seemingly stacked against them," said Dr. Christine Blasey Ford in a video. Ford alleged during Senate confirmation hearings on the nomination of Supreme Court Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh that she was sexually assaulted by him more than 30 years ago. "The lasting lesson is that we all have the power to create real change and we cannot allow ourselves to be defined by the acts of others."

Its so much nicer when they call her by her name, instead of Brett Kavanaugh Accuser.
If Flynn's plea deal is what gave them the evidence to take down Trump I disagree. You have to make it appealing for future investigations as well so that witnesses will want to take plea deals so the investigators can bring in the big fish.I really hope the judge throws Flynn in the slammer. You don't get to treason and then community service your way out because you had some info on some Russians.

Is "conservative" the new "gay"?
Because they feel like they need to represent the popular views even if they're wrong, because people with wrong views still bring ad revenue.this is something i've wondered about.

I was with you, @morningmika, right up to the "butt boy" comment. Try "toadie" or "lackey" or "stool pigeon" or "ass kisser," or "traitor," but maybe don't equate homosexuality with Mike Pompeo carrying water for the murderous regime in Saudi Arabia.
