I don't believe that media will hold these cretins accountable. Look at his cabinet, it's all rich people who don't need jobs. Fox will take all these people back--except Shine, for legal reasons--if they need to pay their lawyers after leaving the White House. Most of these scumbags will be rehabilitated enough to go out on the Wingnut Welfare circuit, eventually.
I think that's sort of the point though -- the people they are actually getting are often people coming from Fox (who can return there afterward) or family members, or the dredges of the Republican party. It's still not people with any actual sense or qualifications.

I just feel that her being truthful in calling out Trump supporters would have been fine had she not been a bad candidate.
I see no reason why anyone running in 2020 need to keep up that bipartisan image. Trump would lose to any of those candidates.

2004 was the first presidential election I voted in. I learned a lot of hard lessons having bought into the idea that Kerry was actually ahead (despite being behind in the polls) because of the supposed rule of undecided voters breaking to the challenger, and then of course the leaked early exits showing him ahead in key states.
And of course I remember a lot of things like the "elitist" attacks on Kerry ("he asked for Swiss on his cheesesteak!"), the purple heart band-aids at the RNC, Jerome Corsi's role in swiftboating (seeing that name come up in the Mueller investigation was something, I can only imagine what it would be like to have lived through Watergate and hear Roger Stone come up again).
But yes generally speaking the fundamentals suggested Bush should have been re-elected. Gore, on the other hand, lost (well, "lost") an election he should have won.

The shift means Nauert would wield less clout than her predecessor, both at the UN and within the administration, and as a result, would pose nowhere near the challenge to Bolton, White House chief of staff John Kelly or Pompeo.
No, she still needs Senate approval, as do a lot of non-Cabinet posts.

That narrow Pritzker victory in Bustos's district makes me feel just the slightest bit uneasy, though.
Schumer's job or a Cabinet positions are the two career upgrades for Warner at this point. The latter would open up the seat.

Exactly. I understand Rauner carrying IL-06 and 14 even as we beat Roskam and Hultgren - we saw a lot of suburbanite ticket splitting this year.
I understand Pritzker carrying IL-12 and 13 even as Bost and Davis won again - those areas are ancestrally Democratic at the state level, plus McCann siphoning votes from Rauner.
But IL-17 is supposed to be more Democratic than all of those except maybe IL-06 now (we have to see how 2020 shakes out). Bustos won by 20+, but the long-term pattern is not favorable. Another reason I was not the biggest fan of making her DCCC chair, aside from her comments. We have much safer midwestern seats.
For UN ambassador in particular, it's a position the GOP finds to be worthless and actively denigrates. One of those jobs that they'd rather wasn't there at all, so like Energy and HUD and Education, they'll fill it with whatever empty suit they can find, although usually the empty suits are at least somewhat worthy because they want the prestige of a cabinet appointment. In this case only folks who want infamy or who live off of wingnut welfare already are willing to jump.
