Watching Face the Nation and the interview with Rep. Kristi Noem shows even Republican women reps are just as bad as the men. When directly confronted about Trump's bull shit with women and given several examples she just fucking deflects and dodges and makes some empty half assed statement. This after an entire interview about how she was a woman running as Republican for a seat that had never had a woman and how tough it was. What a crock.

Rudy's always been more of the person who's supposed to go out there to fight for public opinion more than the outright law.

Yeah when Rudy says things that seem ridiculous to trump critics, keep in mind that they sound very different to people sympathetic to trump. He's priming trump supporters to not believe what comes out of Mueller — and for things impossible to deny, prime them to believe there's nothing wrong with whatever trump did.
Most people that are sympathetic to trump just need someone to tell them what trump did is ok so they can justify their support of trump. It's always easier to accept a story that reinforces your prior actions and beliefs than it is to accept a story that forces you to admit you were wrong.

It's additionally weird for me because my exposure to Gutfield was rooted in his Red Eye days where he was a wannabe John Stewart, so when I see him on daytime fox it just feels like he's trying to put his serious pants on.

They can get away with it because those in power right now have no interest in protecting the rights of minorities or playing fair. I can only hope that when Democrats eventually take back power there will be strict repercussions for all of the nonsense Republicans have been doing to erode the rights of every group that typically doesn't vote for them but honestly they'll probably do what the always do and talk about the importance of healing as opposed to taking vengeance and then we can play this whole song and dance out all over again when Republicans win control and go back to their usual shenanigans.
