The GOP was polling terribly during the 90s with those groups after losing their minds in 92 and scrambling throwing everything at the wall to try and reclaim power. Many thought they were actively racist and sexist but Bush sort of calmed the wave a bit for moderates and swing voters (and also thanks to Bill for being a fucking pig)

It's also why I think during this midterm we can capitalize on their bad numbers with suburbs, women and college educated voters, we should be careful because the right republicans can come along and flip people right back. I know it's unlikely but if someone like Nikki Haley came it would change the map right back.

I say it is hard to flip them back after Trump. A large chunk of Republicans will still be somewhat trumpian and those Republicans are more and more openly bigoted and racist. It hard for them to recover even if Republicans get those 'compassionate' conservatives. Those types aren't racist and bigoted enough to get the support from other Trump like Republicans which will likely still be significant.

Especially funny considering that Nixon thought that his mother was a perfect, beautiful angel.

I wouldn't have a problem with reforms that created more oversight and fairness, but I think the idea of getting rid of plea deals and co-operation is untenable.

I look at it the other way around.
I think the practice of going for super harsh punishment you wouldn't have otherwise in order to coerce people is bad, and morally, the punishment we administer should not really hinge heavily on whether or not you have some information regarding some other case, especially when you consider the reasons why most people are reluctant to testify.

I am however not dogmatic, so I don't have huge problem with such tools being in the Trump investigation (much like I don't have huge issues with how the feds shat all over the constitutions to crush the KKK), but it's important to remember that much like our justice system as a whole, it's mostly turned toward poor people where such tactics are especially destructive,

They're not that smart, what they'll probably do is try to pay Uber drivers to block the roads to the polls but then they'll get caught after 10 minutes and they'll get kicked out of the cars.

Democrats have exceeded 2016 turnout in 293 AZ precincts; Republicans, only 2.

Low Republican turnout still has a small potential to doom McSally, though probably not with Chemtrail and Arpaio splitting the vote.
