That's all they know how to do.
It's all they're good at.

Sondland dropping absolute bombs. Paul Krugman made a good point about this - Sondland is independently wealthy, he doesn't need to worry about his standing with Republicans because he doesn't need a Fox gig or a think-tank job after this. He can go full scorched earth.
Correct me if I'm wrong but the FBI is nominally independent from federal oversight. Could well be that they're going after others based on his testimony.
I'll sound off from Pompeo's former district here in Kansas. There are plenty of inoffensive Republicans other than Pompeo to run but I don't think any of them want to be tied to Trump. Kobach's ass kissing and obvious racism is how we elected a democratic governor. I'm not saying a Democrat will win the Senate seat, but it would be much easier for a republican if they don't have to kiss the ring....so how is Pompeo considered a good pick for Kansas Republicans again? He's embarrassed himself. I'm sure the KS GOP can find someone inoffensive to get around other than Pompeo. But as well know with the politicians, ego trumps all.
Will some low-level conservative grifter try to organize a boycott of his hotels for being traitorous? lolSondland dropping absolute bombs. Sondland: "I shared my concerns about potential quid pro quo with Senator Ron Johnson."
A few weeks ago, Ron Johnson claimed that perhaps one of the reasons OMB withheld the aid was because Mulvaney is a fiscal hawk.
He's smirking as he says "We understood that "talk with Rudy" meant talk with Mr. Rudy Giuliani, the President's personal lawyer."
That's a shot at Volker from yesterday.
Reading through analysis of his opening statement, he's really naming everyone as complicit.

As impeachment testimony continues on Capitol Hill, Trump is planning to leave Washington Wednesday morning for Austin, where he is scheduled to tour Apple's Mac Pro manufacturing plant and meet with Apple chief executive Tim Cook.
Among those expected to join Trump are his daughter Ivanka Trump and son-in-law Jared Kushner, both senior White House advisers.
Trump is scheduled to depart at 10:45 a.m. When he leaves the White House, he frequently stops to field questions from reporters — including many recent ones about impeachment — before boarding Marine One. Trump is scheduled to return to the White House shortly before 8 p.m.

Rudy later told them that Trump wanted a public statement "committing" Ukraine to look into 2016 election interference and Bursima, saying they were "two topics of importance to the President."

Sondland continues to differ from how Vindman and Hill (and now Volker) remember the July 10 meeting. The three said that Sondland floating probes was wrong and Bolton cut meeting short. Sondland: "We all discussed the importance of the two action items I identified earlier."

Sondland is saying "it was a quid pro quo, everyone knew about it, everyone hates Rudy"
Biggest anime betrayal. Everyone got thrown under the bus.
Whichever Sondland lawyer came up with the case that his memory lapses were all because of WH stonewalling is going to win some kind of industry award

Sondland throwing more under the bus: Reads email to Tim Morrison of NSC that mentioned "investigations." Says he looped in Brechbuhl, a top State official. "Even as late as Sept. 24, Secretary Pompeo was directing Kurt Volker to speak with Rudy Giuliani."

Conflicting testimony, yes. It makes him look better, so make of it what you will.
